Penny Black Flutters Meets Dots

Today, I’m sharing a card crafted with two of the new Penny Black’s Creative Dies –  Flutters (51-006) and Dots (51-009) – that I combined for a summer birthday card.

Penny Black Flutters Meets Dots

To begin, I cut a piece of masking paper with the Dots die two times, side-by-side. I rotated the die 180 degrees before cutting with it a second time. I put the mask on white cardstock and used a combination of Distress Inks to color the cardstock. I then cut the dragonflies from the inked cardstock. The circle cutout on the white panel reveals a piece of lighter blue cardstock cut with the Dots die placed over the darker blue card base. To complete the card, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Friendship (30-160) set with Versafine ink.

  1. Beautiful. I love the die cut dot background – the perfect setting for your polka dot dragonflies! Love how some of the dots are cut out while the others are stamped in a rainbow of color!

  2. What a great way to get these fun, summery colors with your masks…your dragonflies are so pretty! I love the window, too! Beautiful card, Jean!
