Ready for Color

Now that the new year is upon us, I’m craving color, quite possibly because it’s still winter (and dark and cold)!

Ready for Color

I added pattern to this card by clear embossing the new Hero Arts Tiny Flags background stamp. The sentiment is from one of my favorite Hero Arts sets – “Heydey Sentiments.” I really like the fonts in that set, especially to add graphic punch.

After finishing that card, I saw this card by Jennifer McGuire and created something similar (albeit simpler) heat embossing the Tiny Flags background with Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder. (The sparkle doesn’t show up particularly well in the photo, but it lends a subtle shimmer.) I used the Hero Arts “My Favorite” set for the sentiment.

  1. Fantastic colourful cards!! I really love the tiny flags stamp, it looks great in the colours you chose. In New Zealand we are in the middle of Summer, so our days are the complete opposite of yours. My children were talking about having a white christmas one day, explained we would have to go to the other side of the world to experience that. Maybe after we win the lottery……(although if we did win the lottery I’m not sure how much money would be left after I went wild at all my favourite craft stores!!!!).

  2. I love the bold, graphic sentiments you chose to pair with the tiny flags stamp! They’re just perfect with the colors you used here, too! Fabulous cards, Jean!

I just made a cup of hot cocoa for myself, and clicked on to your post…and for just a few minutes, I was able to forget about the dark sky and freezing temps we are all having…thanks! Stay warm, my friend!!!
