Hello! Today I am sharing a special friendship card created with this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Club – “Ballerina Sentiments”along with the Large Die of the Month kit – “Look Behind the Curtain” – at Spellbinders. (I shared a card using the Large Die of the Month kit here.)

  • I stamped the row of ballerinas with “Hello” and  “Friend” on a Whip Cream cardstock panel.
  • I Copic-colored the ballerinas before diecutting the top of the panel with the curtain slot.
  • I cut the curtain pieces from red velvet cardstock and the rods from gold foil.
  • I added the Whip Cream panel to a Brush Gold card base and added the curtain assembly.
  • Once everything was in place, I embellished the curtains with gold sequins.

Here’s a view of the card with the curtain panels closed:

Spellbinders December 2020 Small and Large Die Kit Clubs

Hello and happy December! Today, I am sharing cards created with this month’s Small Die of the Month kit (“Daydreaming”) and Large Die of the Month kit (“Look Behind the Curtain”) at Spellbinders.

My first card showcases the Small Die of the Month kit that is packed with dies with which to create window scenes.

I cut the starry panes from dark blue cardstock and again (without the star insert) from light yellow. The set contains three sentiments. I chose the one that best works with the nighttime scene.

I added the cat, the moon, and the potted plants to the scene, as well as gold sequins. I added the window assembly to a patterned paper background.

On the second card, I have combined the Small Die of the Month kit named “Daydreaming” and Large Die of the Month, which contains dies with which to create an operable curtain. I created a daytime scene with the Small Die of the Month kit, using the rectangular window without the arch window.

Here’s the card with the curtains open:

  • I assembled the scene, which includes two cats and potted plants, and set it aside.
  • Following the directions for the curtain assembly, I die-cut the curtain pieces from patterned paper and gold foil (finials).
  • I attached the curtains to a yellow panel which contains the slots for the curtain mechanism.
  • I then added the window scene.

Here’s what the card looks like with the curtains closed:

Penny Black – CAS Christmas

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with  Penny Black products. The thing to remember with CAS cards – they look simple, but in fact, often take more time than less-simple cards. This card is a case in point; stamping the trees took a fair amount of time.

Penny Black - CAS Christmas

  • I stamped the tree image in the 30-747 Ornamented stamp set in green and red pigment inks. I dried the trees in between stamping as I have had pigment ink smear.
  • I cut the panel to 4 1/2″ square.
  • I die-cut the 51-664 Mirthful letters from white and red cardstock. I filled the open spaces of the white letters with red cardstock and adhered them to the red letters to create a drop-shadow effect.
  • I added the letters to the center of the stamped panel.

CAS Reverse Confetti Holiday Card – Inspired by Starbucks Holiday Cups

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS holiday card created with Reverse Confetti products inspired by this year’s Starbucks holiday cups.

  • I die-cut the Big Polkas Cover Panel from Polar White cardstock.
  • I cut circles in red, two shades of green, and light gray with a circle die, slightly larger than the holes in the cover plate.
  • I taped the circles to the frame on the back.
  • I heat-embossed the Sentimental Christmas sentiment (I particularly like the font on this set and thought it worked well with the whimsical feel of the card) on red cardstock.
  • I cut the sentiment with a circle die and matted it with a slightly larger white cardstock circle.
