Simple Scrapper July Templates Day Two

This month, I did a fair amount of scrapping with the Red, White and Blue color scheme, including a layout for the Simple Scrapper’s July challenge Design Team article, which I’ll share next week.

My two-page layout using templates from the July Simple Scrapper release documents time spent on Martha’s Vineyard in the late 1990’s. These photos were taken with a film camera and scanned for the digital layout. The release includes grid templates that can easily be paired with focal photo templates, as I’ve done here. I think it’s evident that my sons enjoyed the countless hours they spent on the dock of the home we rented in MV.

Simple Scrapper July Templates

This month’s Simple Scrapper Premium Membership templates feature large photo spots. I used an image of my oldest son riding a bike on the beach in Florida (probably the only time he’s ever ridden a bike on the beach) on one of the layouts I created from the template set. The photo’s colors just didn’t go with the color scheme I had in mind, so I converted it to black and white. I can see using this template over and over.

“Go, Dog, Go” Card

This week’s Lawnscaping Challenge is to use dimension on your card. I’ve had several different card ideas swirling around in my head the last several days. Then, out of nowhere, I decided I wanted to try to recreate the party scene in “Go, Dog, Go” – it’s the last double-page illustration in the book in which all of the dogs hold a party in a giant tree. As I child, I could stare at the image for hours.
