Spellbinders September Clubs Blog Hop

Spellbinders September Clubs Blog Hop

Hello! Today, I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop along with other paper crafters sharing projects created with the Spellbinders September 2020 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Michelle Short.  (The entire list of participants is included at the end of my post.) For the hop, I created CAS, Christmas-themed cards showcasing the September Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Hello & Thank You.” (I shared two other cards created with the September Small Die of the Month kit in this post.)

  • On the first card, I cut the frame and letters from Brush Gold cardstock and added Whip Cream floral elements to the stems and around the frame.
  • The letters were added with foam adhesive.
  • I scattered a variety of sequins on to the card once everything was assembled.

Reverse Confetti – Give Thanks

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS card created with a Reverse Confetti stamp and coordinating die set called “In All Things” from their most recent release.

Reverse Confetti - Give Thanks

  • I stamped the wreath image and colored it with Copic markers and colored pencils.
  • I cut the wreath with its coordinating die.
  • I stamped the sentiment on American Crafts orange peel-texture cardstock.
  • I trimmed the panel and matted it on a rust card base.
  • I added the wreath to the card base with foam adhesive and glued clear jewels for textural interest.

Penny Black Hello Pumpkin

Hello and happy fall! Today I am sharing a colorful, fall-themed card created with Penny Black supplies from the new Autumn Extraordinaire release.

  • I applied Distress Oxide Inks – Crackling Campfire, Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violet – to Bristol board.
  • After the Bristol board dried, I white heat-embossed the pumpkin images from the 30-727 Hello Pumpkin set on to the inked board. I cut the images with the coordinating 51-683 Hello Pumpkin Cut Out die.
  • I cut the stems from inked board with dies in the 51-683 Hello Pumpkin Cut Out set, opting not to heat-emboss the stem images.
  • I stamped the sentiment with Gathered Twig ink on a panel to which I applied Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink at the bottom.

What I like about this card: I like the autumnal colors and the impact (with minimal effort) that the heat-embossing provides. I also like that the card was created with just one stamp set and its coordinating dies.

Spellbinders Christmas Foiled Basics

Hello! I recently shared three winter holiday cards on the Spellbinders Blog created with the Christmas Foiled Basics Collection by Yana Smakula.

Spellbinders Christmas Foiled Basics

I tried many different color combinations of Glimmer foil and cardstock. With more Glimmer foil experience under my belt, I was willing to foil several times on the same cardstock with different foil colors. At the same time, I took advantage of the collection’s companion dies to add foiled sentiments and elements without stress.

I hope you’ll head over to the post for additional details and to leave a comment!

Spellbinders Halloween Plaid

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS, Halloween card featuring Spellbinders die sets.

Spellbinders Halloween Plaid

  • I created the card background with the Kaleidoscope Plaid die set from silver, black, and orange cardstock.
  • After assembling the plaid pattern, I back the panel with white cardstock. I repeated the process to create four panels.
  • The panels were added to a black card base.
  • The sentiment was cut with a die in the Spooky Boo set and the bats with dies in the Witch on Broom set, both from black glitter cardstock.
  • I added the sentiment and bats to an orange square, set at an angle, which I matted with a black square.
