Tim Holtz Feathered Friends

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS mixed-media card created with Tim Holtz supplies including a die set, embossing folder, and stamp set.

Tim Holtz Feathered Friends

  • I cut the Feathered Friends bird from Bristol, which I colored before cutting with Distress Oxide inks. I also added color to the pieces after I cut them.
  • I matted the bird with a vellum circle and a circle cut from a panel, which I collaged with collage paper and added Distress Crayons.
  • I stamped the Simple Sayings sentiment on to cardstock colored with Distress Oxide ink and cut it with a banner die.
  • I dry-embossed the background with the Lumber folder and added inks to the panel, as well some Picket Fence paint.

Penny Black – Mixed Media Hello

Hello! Today, I am sharing a mixed-media card created with Penny Black supplies. I previously shared a card with the 40-728 Entranced stamp in this post.

Penny Black - Mixed Media Hello

  • To create the background, I stamped 40-254 Decadence on to tissue paper and collaged it to white cardstock. I applied several Distress products to grunge it up.
  • I stamped the “brushstroke” 40-728 Entranced image with Distress paint on to that surface.
  • When dry, I added collage medium over the entire image. When that layer was dry, I added Distress ink to the corners, as well as Picket Fence Distress paint.
  • I cut the sentiment with the 51-638 Thanks & Hello set from cardstock that I had collaged with pre-printed tissue paper. I added Picket Fence Distress paint to the letters to mute the paper’s pattern.

Hero Arts Plant + Stand Die Set

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS “hello” created with the Hero Arts Paper Layering Plant + Stand die set.

Hero Arts Plant + Stand Die Set

  • I colored Bristol with a variety of inks and cut it with the die set pieces. The stand was cut from a woodgrain cardstock.
  • I stamped the Sending Smiles sentiment on vellum.
  • I added the vellum to a faux watercolored paper background, which is revealed on the left-hand side. The vellum is adhered to the background under the leaves and pot.
  • I adhered the pot, stand, and leaves to the card front, using foam adhesive on some of the leaves for dimension.

Spellbinders March 2021 Clubs Blog Hop

Hello! I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop sharing projects created with the Spellbinders March 2021 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Kathy Clement. (The entire list of participants is included at the end of my post.) For the hop, I created  spring-themed cards using this month’s Large Die of the Month kit “Spring Together with Lever Pull.” I shared two other cards created with the kit in this post.

While the Large Die of the Month set makes it possible to create interactive cards, it can also be used to create cards without the interactive element, as shown on my next card.

  • I cut and assembled the six chicks and added them to a vellum circle.
  • I added the assembly to a patterned paper background.
  • I foiled a sentiment from the Mini Everyday Sentiments set, which I added across the chicks with foam adhesive.
  • I accessorized the card with the egg shell and flowers.
