Hello! I am over on the Spellbinders blog talking about feeling overwhelmed when faced with an abundance of choices, specifically with crafting projects that involve a lot of diecutting. I hope you will head over to read my secrets, see the three projects I created with the Envelope of Wonder Collection, and leave a comment!

Spellbinders | Day of the Dead Mariachi Card
Hello! In the spirit of celebrating Dia de los Muertos (“Day of the Dead”) and its rich traditions, I’m delighted to share a card that pays homage to the mariachi musician of the holiday. The card, in Halloween colors, features a skeleton mariachi musician -the Dancin’ Day of the Dead Boy (part of the Spellbinders Dancin’ Halloween Collection) – passionately playing the guitar and radiating a sense of liveliness and festive energy.
During Day of the Dead, practiced on November 1 and 2, the graves of loved ones are decorated, special foods are made, and special festivals and processions are held. You can read more about the celebration in this Smithsonian article. The sentiment, from the Dancin’ Halloween Sentiments set, translates to “Long live life.” I used a different sentiment from this sentiment set HERE on a card that showcased the Spellbinders Gnome Drive Collection.
The mariachi musician encapsulates the heart and soul of Dia de los Muertos as a symbol of the connection between life and death. While our loved ones may have passed, their spirit lives on through our joyful celebrations and cherished memories.
Spellbinders | Gnome in the Haunted Fast Lane
Hello! Imagine a Halloween gnome driving a sports car. I have brought that scene to life showcasing the new Spellbinders Gnome Drive Holiday and Halloween die sets. Gnome-themed designs are appealing and combining a gnome with a sports car on a Halloween card adds a fun twist.
The Halloween add-on die is one of several themed sets in the Gnome Drive Collection. The die set includes a cat, a ghost with a witch’s hat, a witch’s hat for the gnome, and a pumpkin balloon. I have paired the focal image with the sentiment – “Love you ’til the end” from the Dancin’ Halloween Sentiments set.
Lawn Fawn | Halloween Haunted Barn
Hello! Today, I am sharing a Halloween scene featuring a combination of Lawn Fawn products.
- I used the Stitched Cloud Backdrop to cut the background from light purple cardstock and attached it to an A2-size card base.
- I stamped the Tiny Halloween sentiment in black ink on Noble Fir cardstock and cut the top with the Grassy Border die.
- I cut the Spooky Fence border from Black Licorice cardstock and added it to the scene.
- I cut the Build-A-Barn from a variety of cardstock colors and assembled it.
- I decorated the scene with elements from the Build-A-House Halloween and the Scalloped Treat Box Halloween sets.
Lawn Fawn | Halloween Mug
Hello! Today I am sharing a Halloween-themed card created with a combination of Lawn Fawn products. I am a cute Halloween person, as opposed to a scary Halloween person. And I like the colors!
- Stamp Happy Howloween sentiment in black on light-purple cardstock. Cut with the largest die in the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables set. Attach to card base.
- With the Outside In Stitched Mug set, cut mug from dark orange cardstock, the tea bag from teal cardstock, and the string from white cardstock. Shade mug with Distress Ink.
- Cut ghosts from white cardstock with dies in the Build-A-House Halloween Add-On set and in the Scalloped Treat Box Haunted House Add-On set. Back with black cardstock.
- Cut bats and cat from black cardstock with dies in the Build-A-House Halloween Add-On set and in the Scalloped Treat Box Haunted House Add-On set. Back cat face with green cardstock.
- Use Cole’s ABCs to cut sentiment for mug from white glitter foam. Adhere to mug.
- Arrange elements on card front.
