The Cutting Edge Challenge #15

It’s time for the another Cutting Edge Challenge! Our inspiration this week is an amazing card created by Design Team member Amy Kolling.

Here’s my take on her card.

Challenge15I was inspired by Amy’s colors, the snowflake motif and the diagonal lines.

I cut the chevrons with the Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts die and adhered them to the white cardstock base. I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments and added silver foil snowflakes, cut with one of the dies in the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts set.

We’d love to have you play along! Head on over to The Cutting Edge Challenge blog where you’ll find inspiration from other members of the team, the rules and regulations, and the InLinkz tool for you to link up your project!

My Favorite Things Cool Day Shaker Card

Today, I’m sharing a shaker card created with the My Favorite Things Cool Day stamp and coordinating die sets.

I colored the bear, which I stamped with the Cool Day stamp and cut with the coordinating die, with Copics. I went with blue and pink to match my patterned papers. The bear was colored with W1.

The bear is so cute! I plan to color him again with a masculine color scheme!

I cut patterned papers with a die in the MFT STAX Decorative Circle Tag set. I added snow banks, cut with the MFT Snow Drifts set, to the background, and then adhered the bear. I cut the front ornament with a circle die that I backed with acetate. I added foam tape around the opening to create a sandwich for the sequins.

The ornament could be hung on a tree or added to a card base, which is what I did. I heat embossed a sentiment from Cool Day on a banner tag cut with the Fishtail Flags set. The white card panel was cut with Blueprints 13.

Penny Black Gold Embossed Holiday Card

Today I’m sharing a card created with a Penny Black stamp image and die cut sentiment. Metallic accents are an easy way to add sparkle to a holiday project.

GoldEmbossedChristmas

I gold-embossed 40-337 Sprightly on green cardstock and trimmed the panel so that the card base would have a border. I also wanted to be able to easily adhere the vellum strip to the back of the card panel. To the strip, I added  the die-cut Merry sentiment from 51-021 Love & Joy (cut several times for extra depth).

My Favorite Things – Comfy Sweaters

Today, I’m sharing a card created with some new goodies from My Favorite Things. Sweaters have been a really big trend this season for papercrafting and the MFT Comfy Sweater die has two sizes from which to choose!

CozyChristmas

I cut the sweaters from patterned paper with the smaller of the two sweater dies in the Comfy Sweater set, and finished them with cuffs, collar and a bottom hem cut from white cardstock. The patterned paper scale worked well with the die size. I stamped the sentiment from Cozy Greetings on white cardstock and cut the card panel with the stitched die in the Blueprints 13 set.

I finished the card by attaching the sweaters to the panel with dimensional adhesive and hanging them with clothespins from a twine line. The card base was covered with another coordinating patterned paper.
I don’t own any holiday-themed sweaters, but I’m thinking I might need to change that!

HolidayTag2

For the first tag, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Seasonal Sentiments set, adding it to a tag cut with the Tag Me, Too Confetti Cuts die, which I decorated with cuts from the Circle Garland Confetti Cuts die.

For the second tag, I glued chevrons cut with the Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts die to plain cardstock and then cut the panel with the Tag Me die. I stamped a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments on a banner, cut with a die in the Tag Me set. I also added some glitter snowflakes cut with one of the dies in the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts set.
