Spellbinders May 2021 Large Die and Clear Stamp Clubs

Hello crafty friends! I’m sharing another card created with the Spellbinders May 2021 Large Die of the Month – “Stitched Card Front, Border & Flower” – with a sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Club – “Borders & Sentiments.” You can see my first card with these products here.

Spellbinders May 2021 Large Die and Clear Stamp Clubs

  • With the Large Die of the Month set, I die-cut the standalone flower twice and the leaf four times from Snowdrift cardstock .
  • I used DMC floss to stitch the flowers and leaves in 972 (green), 728 (yellow), and 898 (brown). I glued the ends of the threads to the back of the shapes.
  • I stamped the sentiment in Rich Cocoa on a  Snowdrift cardstock panel and added Tumbled Glass Oxide ink to the center.
  • I added the sentiment panel to a card base covered with Chocolate Bar cardstock and adhered the leaves and flowers.

Hello! I am sharing a CAS thank you card created with Penny Black supplies from the newest release – “Delight.”

Penny Black CAS Thank You

  • I die-cut the 51-672 Grazing Fawn from white cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers. I backed the image with cardstock to which I had applied Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • I heat-embossed the 30-813 Ever Thanks sentiment on Paper Bag cardstock and cut the panel with a circle die.
  • I cut a smaller circle from white cardstock that I used to frame the Grazing Fawn. I added the kraft-colored panel over the assembly.
  • The card base was created from a dark green cardstock dry-embossed with a Taylored Expressions folder (“Weathered”).

Spellbinders May 2021 Large Die Kit Club

Hello crafty friends! Happy May (one of my favorite months of the year)! I’m delighted to share a card created with the Spellbinders May 2021 Large Die of the Month – “Stitched Card Front, Border & Flower.” With the seven-piece set, you can create beautiful cards incorporating needlework (or not!).

Spellbinders May 2021 Large Die Kit Club

With the large card front die, and the A2-size die to cut the edges, I created a friendship card featuring a sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month Club – “Borders & Sentiments.”

  • To begin, I die-cut the panel from Snowdrift cardstock .
  • I used DMC floss to stitch the flowers in the following colors: 972 (green), 726 (yellow), 597 (blue) 349 (red), and 603 (pink). I glued the ends of the threads to the back of the frame.
  • I heat-embossed the Clear Stamp of the Month Club sentiment in white on dark teal cardstock.
  • I trimmed the heat-embossed panel, attached it to a card base, and adhered the stitched frame to the top.

I stitched the panel using blunt tapestry needles sized 20 and 22. I generally use a 24 on 14-count Aida for cross-stitching. I chose as large as a needle that would fit through the holes.

As I stitched, I was reminded of the embroidery I did as a teen. I still have the eyeglass case that I made for my grandmother. This set would be great for friends to share or for a grandmother-granddaughter activity. You can die-cut the pieces now to stitch at a future date.

Penny Black Abstract Encouragement Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS encouragement card created with  Penny Black supplies.

Penny Black Abstract Encouragement Card

    • I stamped the 30-712 Words of Encouragement sentiment on to white cardstock.
    • I inked cardstock with Distress Oxide inks and cut it with the largest triangle in the 51-647 Triangles set. I used the same die to cut a frame from black cardstock.
    • I cut the 51-650 Viridescent leaves from black cardstock. Using the negative shape, I traced the leaves on to cardstock inked with Distress Oxide inks. I fussy-cut those leaves and glued them to the back of the outline. I trimmed the leaf stem to fit on the bottom of the triangle.
    • I added the triangle with its frame and the leaves to the stamped panel.
    • I embellished with a  butterfly cut with one of the dies in the #51-132 Flights of Fancy set.
