This may be my favorite day yet in the Online Card Class Pattern Play class. Today’s focus was on altering patterned paper. My card is based on one shown by Jennifer McGuire in which she used Picket Fence White Distress Stain on the papers to soften their look. I’m always wowed by how Jennifer adds details and polish to her designs.
Per Jennifer’s directions, I used Distress Ink on the edges of the clouds and sun to add a little color and definition.
Early on in my cardmaking, techniques intimidated me; now I have begun to really appreciate the fun in using the Distress Inks and Stains!
Supplies: patterned papers (Echo Park, Studio Calico, Lily Bee); Memory Box cloud dies; Spellbinders circle dies; Distress Inks; Distress Stain; Technique Tuesday/Ali Edwards stamp; Kaisercraft pearls; VersaMark; Hero Arts white embossing powder
Oh, Jean…I just LOVE your card! I love all the subtle patterns you chose and how you distressed the edges of each element…this is so sweet…I love it!!!
i am a huge fans of yours, so your kind comments make me smile ear to ear.
Do you EVER make a bad card??? You make beautiful cards look so simple! (But, I know from experience that CAS is a challenge!) I love your blog!
