The focus of today’s Online Card Classes “His & Hers” course was Anniversary and Love cards. I decided to make an anniversary card for my husband as our anniversary is later this month.
My card is based on one shared by Julie Ebersole, which I just loved because of its “on trend” nautical motif.
I made a few changes since I didn’t have all of the supplies she used. Julie had stamped her background with a fabulous Impression Obsession background stamp. I used patterned paper as a substitute, but that background stamp is on my “to buy” list. I created the custom sentiment on the computer.
Supplies: My Mind’s Eye patterned paper; Memory Box anchor die; Spellbinders circle die; Studio Calico wood veneer; Simon Says Stamp mini heart die
An amazing take on Julie’s card! I think her idea is fabulous and it’s one I know I’ll also try, but just didn’t have all the elements! But, boy did I have fun using Kristina’s inspiration…today was awesome. I also LOVED Amber’s card — giving me lots of wonderful new ideas!! You did a fabulous job all week and I always am excited when I see what you share in the gallery!
…Oh and I meant to tell you that “anchors” have a very special meaning to my oldest son, Brian. He has a large anchor tattoo that he designed and had done in Memory of his Grampy who was an avid fisherman and a former member of the Navy.
He and his wonderful wife, also had an anchor them tied to their wedding and even the engagement ring he had designed for her. It’s engraved inside with “My Anchor”, as she grounds him and makes him so happy. THey both also love boating and the coast and went to the Aquarium in Boston, as part of their first date. They got engaged in Portugal at the world famous Aquarium there, which is the largest in the world….the ocean will always hold a special place in their hearts and I love whenever I see that saying used <3
When I first saw your card, I thought, “She’s so lucky to have ALL the supplies for this card”…I actually love the patterned paper you chose for it…very masculine and perfect! And…of course I really love the anchor and boat! Once again, you’ve done such a great job with all of your cards this week…A+++ student!!!
This looks great Jean. I like the denim paper and the weathered red mat. Very nautical.
Great use of patterned papers!
I loooove your interpretation of Julie’s card, Jean. It’s totally fabulous!
