This past weekend I had an opportunity to color stamped images, including some from the Penny Black “Mimi Safari” stamp set. For this card I watercolored with a variety of Distress Ink pad inks.
At the suggestion of Elizabeth Allan, I added a little bit of Ink Potion #9 to the water into which I dipped my brush (I did not add water to the water brush, instead I just used it like a regular brush). I created a sentiment for the “photo border” on my computer and die cut it with the InstaFrame from My Favorite Things. The blue background in the “photo” was created with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. After much research, I discovered that a combination of Tattered Rose and Tea Dye works well for skin tones. I had initially tried Vintage Linen, which made Mimi look rather lifeless!
Jean you have the perfection combination of colors for skins tones. This snapshot of Mimi’s is adorable. Great fussy cutting too!
