Hello! Today, I’m delighted to be participating in a Simon Says Stamp blog hop with products from their BEST DAYS release. Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop!

Simon Says Stamp Best Days Release

Let’s get started! My first project features the Picture Book Crocodile paired with the Picture Book Sky Background, both of which are part of the Best Days release.

Simon Says Stamp BEST DAYS ReleaseTo begin, I colored cardstock with a variety of Distress Oxide inks (Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough). I die-cut the Picture Book Crocodile from the colored cardstock and assembled the pieces on black cardstock backing so that the eyes would show through. I also colored cardstock with Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. From that colored cardstock, I cut out the Picture Book Sky Background four times, inlaying it with white cardstock clouds.

The sentiment from the Oh Bunny stamp set was stamped on to a panel which I colored with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and cut with one of the dies in the Arched Stitching Borders set. I am a big fan of all of the Picture Book animals and can’t wait to pair the Crocodile with other dies in the series.

My second project showcases the Oh Bunny stamp set and corresponding die set.

I inked one of the images in the Oh Bunny stamp set with Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. I then stamped the sweet faces included in the Oh Bunny stamp set on to the bunnies. Once finished with the stamping, I cut the image with its corresponding die.

I placed the bunnies on to a background, on which I had applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and stamped one of the fun sentiments in the Oh Bunny set. To finish off the card, I added clouds cut with the Picture Book Sky Background die and hearts from the Oh Bunny set. I created the card base with paper in the Carta Bella Spring Market 6 x 6 paper pad.

My final project is an Easter tag featuring several different bunnies from the Oh Bunny stamp set.

I stamped the bunny on the left with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and the one on the right with Squeezed Lemonade. After stamping their faces, I cut the bunnies with their corresponding dies. I used a Lawn Fawn tag die to cut the tag from a background which I had inked with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I applied Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink to cardstock on which I then heat-embossed the Easter sentiment from the Oh Bunny stamp set.  I cut the hill with one of the dies in the Drifted Stitched Borders set, as well as the same Lawn Fawn tag die.

  1. Being a Floridian, I think that crocodile just might have to double as a gator….LOL Very cute. Have a great day.

  2. Thanks for showing me how the gators can be used for anything but a kids card. I just couldn’t imagine. All are so creative !

  3. Those cloud dies with those super cute alligators. Cuteness overload! (really like the cloud die that they came out with this release.)

  4. I adore how you altered the croc die to have their mouths all opened slightly differently. Makes them really *POP* as individuals, instead of 3 of identical dies. And it’s gender neutral for any age! Win! Win! Win! Thanks for sharing!

  5. These cards have such a fun, bold, graphic look! I like how the color and clean lines make such a punch while also being whimsical.

  6. I love these cards– the color combinations make them pop. My favorite is the crocodiles card with the Oxide Inks blended background and the cute, but sophisticated, crocodiles. 😊
This is a card that I would use for a co-worker’s birthday or as congratulations from all of us at work.

  7. I love the crisp, clean colours on your card and the ‘gator’ and the bunnies are adorable. They have so much expression on their paper faces. Great work Jean.

  8. It is hard to decide which of your projects are the cutest. I love the cartoonishness (if that is a word) of the croc card but the bunnies are adorable.

  9. Jean, I am truly inspired by these designs! Clean and simple perfection! Thanks so much for the inspiration and the chance to win!

  10. I have fallen in love with that croc die. It is so stinkin’ cute. My sister lives in FL and I can hardly wait to make a card for her with him on it. [I know they are gators, but I think the croc can double.]

  11. Gorgeous cards but just gotta love crocodile card. Reminds me of my holidays as a kid at a holiday camp and this was their mascot. Just gorgeous creations. Thank you

  12. Goodness, how adorable! I love, love, love how you pieced together the alligator card and your attention to detail. And that bunny card- I would never have thought to sponge my bunnies in blue and yellow. So so cute! Thanks for the inspiration!

  22. What delightful cards! I love the vibrant colors and inset look of the alligator cards. The bunnies are just adorable — the coloring is wonderful!

  23. The cards are all beautiful! I especially like the tag idea to attach to a gift basket, instead of a card.

  24. Thank goodness for blog hops! I did not realize the bunny set had little faces! I wondered what the heck I would do with a bunch of bunnies hopping away all the time! Mind you it wasn’t that bad of a deal for me because I live across the river from a Peeps store so Peeps are kind of a joke around here and the Washington Post used to run a Peep diorama contest every year. But you are the first person on the hop, if one goes in order and starts with the first day, to use this stamp set and, while this isn’t my first “AH HA!” moment with this release, this is my dumbest one (so far)! Thank goodness your cards and that tag are so darn cute that I can feel good about being such a goofball! Now that set is even better than before!

  25. The crocodile would be great for little boys’ birthday cards and even bookmarks for my granddaughter’s KDG class.

  26. I love those Easter bunnies.
They will work for so many different types
of cards and will be fun to use.
thanks for sharing some cute cards.

  34. Your Picture Book crocs card is the best! I love how you used 3 of them and how you built the background! Awesome. Thank you.

  35. Hi Jean,
Your crocs sure are cute, but I love the colours you chose for your “Some Bunny Loves You” card. I get all caught up in traditional colours, so it is great to see how we can use other colours to make such beautiful and impactful cards.
    Take care
    Tracy

  36. Love the way you’ve used colors in these creations. The images just pop! Great projects to share on this hop. Thanks.

  37. Your projects just made me smile!!! The crocs are adorable and those bunnies so bright and cheery. Thank you for sharing!!

  38. When I looked at your bunny card I thought it was so cute the way you blended the colors across all the bunnies. It was like one little bunny looked most like the (teal) Dad bunny, and then one was like the Mom bunny all in yellow, and one of the kids was a mix of both. I have kids like that!! Ha ha. One is the spitting image of his Dad and one looks more like me, and then we have a daughter that we can’t really say who she looks like b/c she has so much of both of us. Love it!!

  39. The bold colors and perfect die cuts from this release are so fun and great additions for all of us!
