Hello! Today I am sharing two cards showcasing the Penny Black “Flower Teddy” stamp set. I recently had some time to watercolor (during a power outage) and decided to tackle this image.
On the first card:
- I stamped the image on Cold Press paper with VersaFine ink.
- I used a variety of Distress Inks to color the image (I have three storage tins full of the mini pads), as well as Kuretake watercolors.
- Once dry, I fussy cut the image.
- I used patterned paper for the 4 1/2″ square card base to which I added a dry-embossed 4″ circle. I added the teddy bear image with foam adhesive.
- I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut it with a banner die.
On the second card:
- I stamped the image on Hot Press paper with VersaFine ink.
- I colored the image with Distress Ink and Kuretake watercolors.
- Once dry, I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine ink and cut the image, on which I had added a blue wash background, to 4″ square.
- I added the watercolored panel to a 4 1/4″ square dry-embossed background.
Ideally I would be practicing watercolor, Zig market coloring, and/or Copic coloring on a weekly basis!

Gorgeous watercoloring, Jean! Especially love your bear image featured on the circle but the shading looks great on card 2 also!!
Perfect coloring! The second card with that soft blue wash is perfect! The bear almost looks 3 dimensional!
Stunning colouring effects Jean – the little bear is adorable!
Wonderful coloring of your sweet sweet image.
