TE Christmas Ornaments – One Design, Two Versions

Hello! Today, I’m sharing two Christmas cards, featuring Taylored Expressions stamps and dies, of the same design but with different color schemes.

For my first version, I went for drama!

TE Ornaments

I cut the Ornament Overlays and Ornament Accessories from gold cardstock. I heat-embossed the Ornamental sentiment with gold metallic powder on Oreo cardstock. I die-cut circles that were slightly larger than the overlays from Cherry Pop cardstock. The ornaments were strung with gold metallic thread.

I went with a softer color palette for my second version.

The ornaments were cut from silver cardstock. The Ornamental sentiment was heat-embossed with silver powder on a Salt Water Taffy background. I used the Ornament Accessories to create the strings and bows.

Snow Day

Hello! Today’s I’m sharing a CAS, winter-themed card. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we’ve just had our first significant snowfall of the season in the mountain areas.

CAS Christmas Die-Cut Card

I rummaged through my dies to find a wreath that would work with the Small Winter Sled finding the one in the Holiday Arbor Accessories set to fit well. I heat-embossed the sentiment from Snow Day with silver embossing powder and cut the white cardstock with one of the dies in the Stitched Hillside Border set. The patterned papers are from a Lawn Fawn pad purchased several Christmases ago.

PB Simplicity – Winter Village Die-Cut Scene

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS winter scene created with Penny Black supplies.

PB Simplicity

I Distress-Inked the background panel with Blueprint, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, and Milled Lavender. Once dry, I heat-embossed the Santa and reindeer from the 40-406 Snow Dasher set with silver embossing powder.

I die cut 51-156 Tiny Town and backed the openings with silver foil. I finished off the card with a stamped sentiment from the 30-259 Wonderful & Jolly set.

I hope you’ll head over to the Penny Black Simplicity blog where I recently shared this winter-themed card using the same Distress Ink colors.

From Witch to Girl Elf!

Hello! I’m sharing a CAS holiday card featuring a female elf (who just happened to have once been a witch!). For the August Taylored Expressions release, I created this card with the Roly Poly – Witch die set. With just a few modifications, she’s an elf for Christmas.

TE Roly Poly Elf

I die cut the pieces from the Roly Poly – Witch set and used corresponding Taylored Expressions ink colors to the die-cut pieces. In addition to that set, I used the cheeks from Roly Poly – Santa. To finish, I added a frame cut from gold cardstock with the Picture Perfect – Vertical set.

As Buddy the Elf, the inspiration for my card, says: “The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”

Supplies: Background paper – Doodlebug Here Comes Santa Claus patterned paper

Here Comes Santa Paws

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a card showcasing the Lawn Fawn Happy Howlidays stamp set, which was a Simon Says Stamp set for their Stamptember event. I paired the Copic-colored dogs with two Lawn Fawn die sets.

Lawn Fawn Santa Paws

I cut the Little Town Border from white cardstock and backed the openings with yellow cardstock. I cut the Stitched Mountain Borders from the Earl Grey cardstock. I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil to create the snowflakes. It took me a few minutes to gather my embossing paste and related supplies, but I’m glad I did, as the background needed some texture (and I plan to do more stenciling this season).
