Today, I’m sharing two cards created with the same color scheme and the Penny Black stamp sets: Floral Applique (40-238) and Sentimental (30-176).
For my first card, I heat embossed one of the sentiments from Sentimental then stamped a combination of images from the Floral Applique set with white pigment ink.
This card didn’t come together on my first try! I learned after several tries that I needed to stamp the images around the sentiment first. I worked clockwise starting on the right hand side, to leave room around the sentiment.
As I stamped the first card, I had a thought (midway through the process) – What if I only stamped the lower half? I decided to give that a try on a second card in which I used navy dye ink on white cardstock.
I really like the combination of navy, white and silver for a casual, but elegant feel. I tried gold embossing the sentiment but it was too formal and heavy. I also tried some other dye colors for the white notecard, including a citrus green and purple. I’d like to make another card with the sentiment in black ink and the flowers in one of those colors. So many card ideas, so little time! 🙂
