Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #20

Today, I’m playing along with the Share Joy Challenge #20 at Taylored Expressions.Share Joy Challenge #20

I used the sketch and kept it Clean & Simple, creating a “Hello” card with die cut flowers and sentiment:

TE Share Joy Challenge #20

After a week of rain here in the Pacific Northwest, these bright flowers make me happy! I did a bit of pruning on the Leafy Branch, before tucking it behind the flowers.

Supplies:

Penny Black Simplicity CAS Valentine

Today, I’m sharing a CAS Valentine’s Day card created with Penny Black stamps and dies.

CAS Valentine

To begin, I cut the window using the Penny Black 51-135 ironwork window die inside a cardstock rectangle. (The side edges of the window do not get cut, providing lots of flexibility on how to use the die.) I heat-embossed a sentiment from the 30-269 so very much set on the bottom of the panel with silver embossing powder.

I backed the panel with yellow cardstock and attached hearts to the front of the window. The hearts were cut with the 51-100 tree of love die from watercolor paper, which I had colored with Ranger Barn Door Distress Spray.

To finish, I attached the frame to a dry-embossed panel.

Lawn Fawn Keep Cozy

Today I’m sharing a winter-themed, friendship card, featuring one of the cute critters from Lawn Fawn’s Party Animal set.

Jean Manis Lawn Fawn Keep CozyI kept the design similar to this card in order to focus on my Copic coloring. The Lawn Fawn Journaling Card die provides a background that’s just the right size for the critters. I used a woodgrain dry-embossed background for an outdoorsy feel.

Let’s Cozy Up

I’ve been focusing on making winter-themed cards with products I own, despite being lured by spring-themed stamps, dies and papers (not easy to do, but I’m enjoying embracing the current season)! Today, I’m sharing a friendship card featuring the My Favorite Things Cozy Sweater die.

Let's Cozy Up

I created an ombré pattern with the My Favorite Things Sweater Stitch Background stamp (bought last year and had never used) using several Hero Arts inks (their ombré pads are on my wish list). It’s hard to tell, but the color is lighter at the bottom. I tried putting on white cuffs and collar, but the blue needed a bit of punch, hence the red. Once I had red, I needed a balance, so chose the gray for the background. Finally, I needed something to fill out the background, so I added snowflakes cut with dies in the Avery Elle Snow Caps set.

Supplies: My Favorite Things Die-namics Comfy Sweater, CS Cozy Greetings

Valentine’s Day Cottage

Today, I’m sharing a card featuring the Poppystamps Cute Cottage dressed for Valentine’s Day.

Poppystamps Valentines Cottage

It took me a while to figure out the colors for the cottage body, window boxes, trim, etc. But once decided, the card came together quickly. Since Valentine’s Day takes place during the winter in the Northern Hemisphere, I created a winter landscape with snow banks and a falling-snow dry-embossed background.

I heat-embossed the sentiment, from Taylored Expressions Welcome Home stamp set.
