Stretch Your Stamps 2: CASE of Jennifer McGuire’s card

I was away for a week and I’m now catching up with the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamps 2 homework. I’m sharing the first card I’ve made from the class, a CASE of one created by Jennifer McGuire.

Stretch Your Stamps 2: CASE

I made a few changes to Jennifer’s amazing design given my supplies. The Hero Arts damask background stamp is intended to be used for a portrait, rather than landscape, card (the pattern isn’t symmetrical in this orientation), but I don’t own the Tim Holtz stamp she used and I wanted to get going on the card. 🙂 I used silver ink whereas Jennifer used a gorgeous combination of Perfect Pearls.

For this card, I followed Jennifer’s instructions to apply VersaMark to the die cut sentiment and heat emboss it will clear powder. Jennifer did the process three times; I stopped after two. I will definitely use that technique in the future as it gives the die cut extra depth and great shine.

The Cutting Edge Challenge #7

It’s time for the another Cutting Edge Challenge! Our inspiration this week is an amazing card created by Design Team member Jackie Rockwell.

The Cutting Edge Challenge #7

I was drawn to the horizontal lines and the conversation bubbles on Jackie’s card. I also incorporated the pink and golden yellow colors in her card on mine, and I created a square card like she did. I used the stitched long rectangle from the Blueprints die set to create the horizontal lines. The sentiments, which I stamped and heat embossed, are from Simon Says Stamp sets.

Penny Black Remember This – CAS

Today, I’m sharing a CAS card created with products from the recent Penny Black Pocket Treasures release.

Penny Black Remember This - CAS

To begin, I cut the glasses using a die from the 51-055 Shades set several times, from both black cardstock and from patterned paper. I pieced these together and adhered them to solid cardstock cut with one of the dies from 51-053 A Pocket Full, which I had heat embossed with a sentiment from
30-246 Remember This. I attached the panel to a dry-embossed card base.

Poppystamps: Merry Holiday

Today, I’m sharing a Poppystamps card in which I’ve paired a die from the new release with one of my favorites in the Poppystamps collection.

Poppystamps: Merry Holiday
To begin, I cut the Magnificent Merry out of brushed silver cardstock. I then cut the Fremont Pine Landscape out of white cardstock. Next I die cut the Merry out of the Fremont Pine Landscape panel and carefully replaced it with the brushed silver one, making sure to include the pieces in the “m” and “e” when I did so. I trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and attached it to a precut sky blue panel, adhering the scene to my card base.

Fair Winds

One of the themes for the recent StampNation Beach Vacation was “Anchors Away,” and as nautical is one of my favorite summer card themes, I couldn’t resist playing along. It is already starting to feel like fall here in the Pacific Northwest, and with all of the new stamping product releases with fall and holiday themes, I’m not likely to make another nautical card this year.

Stamp Nation Nautical

I embossed the die cut tag with a nautical Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder. The WPlus9 Design sentiment was stamped with Stampin’ Up navy ink and die cut with a Spellbinder circle die. The medallion behind it was stamped with Stampin’ Up red ink and also die cut with a Spellbinders die. The anchor was cut from matte silver cardstock. The patterned paper is from the Carta Bella “Ahoy There” collection. I cut the patterned paper with the stitched rectangle die in the Blueprints 13 set.
