Stretch Your Dies Day 3

Today I’m sharing a card inspired by one that Karolyn Loncon showed in the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Dies class. Karolyn had a different set of dies and stamps than mine, but the main idea was using a die to dry emboss the cardstock after masking the card off with the same shape.

DayThree

I masked off a rectangular shape and applied Distress Inks – Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry – to the heavyweight cardstock card front. I then stamped the rectangle with Penny Black’s 40-379 Applause inked with Picked Raspberry and Barn Door Distress Inks. After inking and stamping, I removed the mask and dry embossed with the same rectangle die (there’s a stitched edge that may or may not be visible). To finish the card, I added a sentiment die cut with the 51-038 Hooray set. I will definitely be using this technique again. I’m really enjoying some time to work through the class lessons!

Penny Black Watercolored Flowers

Today, I’m sharing watercolored flowers paired with a fun sentiment that makes a great card to send “just because” or as a thank you.

I stamped and heat-embossed one of the images from the Penny Black 30-282 Efflorescence set and colored it with Peerless watercolors and Distress Inks. I stamped the sentiment and heat-embossed with 30-297 Sprinkles and Smiles.

Hope you’re having a great day!

Happy Birthday ColourQ #280

Today I’m sharing a CAS birthday card created with Reverse Confetti products using the colors from ColourQ #280.

Looking at the colors in the challenge, I knew I’d want to heat emboss the sentiment in gold and use the paler purple for the card base. I cut several strands of the Circle Garland in the deeper, richer colors. I like the abstract aspect of the garland – like lights in a distance. This color palette has a celebratory feel to me!

Reverse Confetti SFYTT February 2015

Have you seen this month’s SFYTT at Reverse Confetti?

SFYTT21_Feb15

I created a CAS card with the plane from Here We Go Confetti Cuts as the focal point.

Feb2015SFYTT

I cut the plane within the Class Act rectangle so that the plane would be a negative image. I added the die-cut propeller on top. I stamped the larger rectangle, cut with Documented, with a sentiment from Arrows ‘n Elements in gray ink to match the card base. The yellow stars were cut with Oh My Stars.

I hope you’ll play along! Head on over to link up your card on the Reverse Confetti Blog for your chance to win a $20 Reverse Confetti gift certificate and the title of ‘Fetti Fave!

Conversation Birds

Today, I’m sharing a CAS Valentine’s Day card created with Penny Black stamps and die cuts.

I used the Penny Black 30-207 From the Heart set for the heat-embossed sentiments, 51-094 Tweets die set for the birds and two of the 50-003 Chat Bubbles dies.

I’m playing along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #255.
