Recipe for a Happy Home – Spellbinders Let’s Bake

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card featuring the Let’s Bake die set designed by Sharyn Sowell for Spellbinders. This isn’t a typical Mother’s Day card, although I did have that occasion in mind when I created it. I previously created a Christmas-themed card with this set.

Recipe for a Happy Home - Spellbinders Let's Bake

  • I created the sentiment on my computer and printed it on khaki cardstock.
  • I cut out the kitchen tools from various cardstock colors, backing the larger open areas by taping cardstock on to the back.
  • I added the kitchen items to the card base with foam adhesive.

What’s Up Buttercup – Die-cut Picture Book Bear

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS friendship card featuring the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Bear die (one of my favorites!). I combined this cutie with flowers cut with the Simon Says Stamp Blooming Circle die and a computer-created sentiment.

What's Up Buttercup - Die-cut Picture Book Bear

  • I cut the bear and assembled him (her?) by taping the pieces on the backside.
  • I cut the flowers and added centers using the small circles cut with the Blooming Circle die.
  • I printed the sentiment on white cardstock and cut it with the Polaroid Shaker Frame.
  • I taped the bear to the frame and backed the scene with light-blue cardstock.
  • I added the frame and bear to the card base, which I had covered with Lawn Fawn patterned paper from my stash.
  • I assembled the flowers on the front to frame the sentiment.

Enjoy the Ride – Spellbinders May 2019 Small Die of the Month

Hello! Happy May! Today, I am sharing two CAS projects created with this month’s Small Die of the Month die set “Enjoy the Ride” from Spellbinders.

Enjoy the Ride - Spellbinders May 2019 Small Die of the Month

For my first card, I created a sky/road scene with a pink scooter using letters in the set for the “Ciao” sentiment and balloons (die in the set) tied to the back of the scooter.

Enjoy the Ride - Spellbinders May 2019 Small Die of the Month

  • I dry-embossed the roadway piece (gray cardstock) with the Beach Towel Embossing Folder.
  • I cut the “Ciao” sentiment from white cardstock and adhered it to the roadway with liquid adhesive using the dry-embossing lines as a guide for the letters.
  • I cut the scooter out and assembled it with liquid adhesive and tape.
  • I added embroidery floss to the balloons, cut from several shades of pink, and attached them to the sky background with dot and foam adhesive. I taped the strings to the sky background making sure that they would be covered by the back of the scooter. I attached the scooter to the scene with dot adhesive.

I love using color and repetition on card designs, so for my second project, which measures 6 1/2″ x 3 3/4″, I created three scooters in bright colors.

  • I created the Go sentiments on my computer and printed them on white cardstock.
  • I cut and assembled the scooters from brightly colored cardstock.
  • I added a strip of washi paper to the right side of the card base to emphasize the road/transportation theme.
  • I adhered the scooters to the scene with dot adhesive.

Die-Cut Tea Cup Bouquet

Hello! I’m sharing a CAS card on which I have combined several Spellbinders products. While I had Mother’s Day in mind when creating the card, it would also work as a friendship card.

Die-Cut Tea Cup Bouquet

  • I stamped the Vacation Time sentiment on to a 4″ square piece of white cardstock .
  • I created a card base with Sea Glass cardstock dry-embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Stampin Up’.
  • I cut the tea cup with the Stack O’ Cups die set from teal cardstock and adhered it to the white panel.
  • I cut the blossoms with dies in the April 2019 Small Die of the Month set, Layered Sweet Birdie Thanks, and A Little Birdie (a previous Small Die set now available for separate purchase).
  • I arranged the blossoms in the teacup and adhered them with foam adhesive. I initially had some blossoms adhered without foam adhesive and they looked too flat!

CAS Die-Cut Thanks Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Thanks card featuring the Rounded Alphabet die set from Simon Says Stamp. It’s easy to change this design – use a different sentiment (like “Hello”) or different colors.

CAS Die-Cut Thanks Card

  • I began by cutting Orange Creamsicle cardstock with a die in the Lawn Fawn Rectangle Stacklets set. I dry-embossed the rectangle with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Stampin Up’.
  • I cut 80 lb. white cardstock with the Rounded Alphabet die set and trimmed the piece into a rectangular shape smaller than the orange rectangle. I removed the letters as I would be using it as a guide to place the letters on to the orange cardstock.
  • I cut 100 lb. white cardstock with the Rounded Alphabet die set.
  • I cut turquoise cardstock with the Rounded Alphabet die set.
  • I placed the white cardstock piece from which I removed the letters over the orange rectangle and held it in place with washi tape. I adhered glue to the letters cut from the heavier-weight cardstock into the frame, skipping the letters where I would be adding the turquoise THANKS. Once all of the letters and symbols were added, I removed the frame.
  • I adhered the THANKS letters into the open places on the orange rectangle.
  • I created a card base with Sea Glass cardstock.
