Green Acres is the Place to Be!

Farm living is the life for me! (I’ve got the theme song for the 1960s tv show “Green Acres” stuck in my head!) Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks! The wait if almost over! June products will be released tomorrow – Thursday, June 9 @ 7 AM PST!

Today my projects feature farms and dogs. Meet Max – an adorable Labrador – he’s one of two new pups on the block at Taylored Expressions.

I stamped Max with the new Taylored Expressions Oreo hybrid ink, colored him with Copic markes and cut him with his corresponding die. I embellished the scene with die cuts created with the Doghouse Accessories and Build a Doghouse sets. To complete the scene, I added a backdrop cut with the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills set, which I dry-embossed with the Chevron folder.

My second card features the previously released Green Acres set that now has a corresponding die set. I stamped the cow, pig and chicken with the new Taylored Expressions Oreo hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers and cut with the corresponding dies.

I embellished the scene with die cuts created with Little Bits – Windmill and Build a Barn. I added a backdrop cut with the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills set to which I attached a fence cut with Build a Scene – Farm Fence.

Aloha! Let’s Talk Tropical

Welcome to Day 2 of the Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks! Today’s projects take you to the beach! June products will be released Thursday, June 9 @ 7 AM PST!

My first project features the Simply Stamped – Pineapple stamp set with coordinating dies.

I used three inks to create the pineapple base – Lemon Meringue, Memento Cantaloupe and Candy Corn – and two inks for the stems – Granny Smith and Peapod. The just-released Taylored Expressions inks worked so well for the layering technique – they cover well and the inks coordinate with one another. After stamping, I cut the pineapples with the coordinating dies.

I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut it with one of the dies in the Banner Stacklets 4 set. I finished the card with a frame cut with one of the dies in the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate set.

For my second beach-themed card, I pulled out the previously released Beach Border die (this may have been one of the first TE dies I ever owned), against which I set a scooter cut with On the Road – Scooter.

I used the Happy Summer Banner for my sentiment and embellished the scene with Little Bits – Flamingo. I cut a sand hill with one of the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills dies and dry-embossed it with the Honeycomb folder. I finished the scene with a frame cut from the Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 set.

Summer On My Mind

Welcome to Day 1 of the Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks! June products will be released Thursday, June 9 @ 7 AM PST!

Both of my projects today have a summer-theme. My first project showcases the Sunshiny Day stamp set with the soon-to-be-released coordinating Sunshiny Day Dies.

I stamped the bird, tree and banner images with the just-released TE Oreo hybrid ink and colored the images with Copic markers before cutting them out with the corresponding dies. I stamped the sentiment with the same Oreo hybrid ink.

To add texture and visual interest, I cut a hill from Peapod cardstock with one of the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills dies and dry-embossed it with the Chevron folder.

My second project showcases the Garden Party embossing folder, which I inked with Taylored Expressions inks in Lollipop, Cookie Monster and Lemon Meringue. In areas where the inks overlapped they blended beautifully!

For the center section of the folder, I added a sentiment and floral clusters created with the Fresh Florals stamp set and its coordinating dies (stamped with Lollipop, Cookie Monster, Lemon Meringue and Strawberry Milkshake inks).

I added a frame cut with a die in the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate set (the scallops on these frames give just the right amount of frill!).

I used the sketch to create a summer-themed card showcasing the Eventful – BBQ die.

I stamped the sentiment from Little Bits of Summer on my MISTI (I’m having a lot of fun with this set mixing and matching the words!). I trimmed the Eventful – BBQ silhouette at the end of one of the banners and attached it to rectangles cut with a die in the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets set.

TE Share Joy Challenge #38

I added a sun cut with dies in the Stitched Circle Stacklets set. The background of Watermelon cardstock was dry-embossed with the Lots of Stars folder.

Hello Summer!

Today I’m sharing a card showcasing the Taylored Expressions Summer Nights Paper Pack.

The patterned papers feature a red/white/blue color scheme perfect for summer projects, patriotic or otherwise. My card celebrates a variety of summer activities!

TE Summer Nights Patterned Paper

Red/white/blue is one of my favorite color schemes, no matter what the season, but most especially in the summer months. I used one of the square dies in the Stitched Square Stacklets set to cut out the patterned paper squares (I clearly like the star theme!) to create a patchwork background. For the embellishments, I cut Little Bits – Firework, Little Bits – Ice Cream Cone, Little Bits – Flip Flops and Little Bits – Popsicles from TE solid cardstock in coordinating colors (Cherry Pop,  Sugar Cube, Blue Corn and Toffee) and placed them on the squares with foam adhesive. One of my favorite things about the TE patterned paper packs is that they coordinate perfectly with the TE cardstock colors!

I added a sentiment from the Little Bits of Summer set, which I stamped with my MISTI – Precision Stamping Tool (the set contains a number of words that can be put together for different summer-themed sentiments).

And there it is – a quick-to-put-together, summer-themed card with a lot of pattern and color and not a lot of fuss!
