Love Is In the Air – CAS Valentine

Hello! We have A LOT of snow here in the PNW (very unusual and the amounts we have received are record-setting). Given the situation, I made a snow-themed Valentine using the Scenic Snow Globe from My Favorite Things.

  • I created the sentiment on my computer and printed it on the Fog Gray cardstock, which I then cut with a Lil’ Inker square die.
  • I cut the house, tree, snow banks, and snow globe from a variety of cardstock colors. I assembled the house and tree and then set them aside.
  • I applied embossing paste to the globe background with the Falling Hearts stencil.
  • Once the paste was dry, I adhered the house, tree, and snow banks to the globe background, and I adhered the assembly to the card base.

Congratulations – MFT Birds + Birdhouse

Hello! Today I am sharing a card showcasing the Birds of a Feather and Birdhouse die sets from My Favorite Things. I designed the card to congratulate someone on their new digs! There is a Snowmageddon in the forecast for the PNW, so I chose spring colors for the card to make it cheery.

  • I die-cut the birds, birdhouse, and floral pieces from Neenah Solar White, SU Melon Mambo, SU Pink Pirouette, TE Peapod, FSJ Black Licorice and TE Pineapple cardstock.
  • I assembled the pieces with Tonic Nuvo glue and added them to a panel cut from TE Sprinkles cardstock with a now retired MFT Blueprints set.
  • I stamped the background, before cutting it, with a sentiment from the You Wow Me stamp set.
  • Although the Birdhouse set includes a post, I wanted my sentiment to go below the birdhouse, so I added a string of cardstock cut with the IO Vintage Ornament die to hang the birdhouse from the top of the card.

I cut the pink and blue cups from Stampin’ Up cardstock along with latte and white cardstock. I added letters created with a retired Memory Box alphabet die set. I used the largest square stitched Lawn Fawn die to cut the card background from Stampin’ Up cardstock.

You Are My Happy

Happy Monday! I am starting the week off with a CAS Valentine primarily featuring My Favorite Things products.

You Are My Happy

I paired one of the birds from the Birds of a Feather set with hearts cut with the Horizontal Hearts in a Row die set and a sentiment from Essential Sentiments.

I used pattern paper from my stash for the hearts choosing to use two patterns for visual interest.

Freshly Made Sketches 345

Hello! I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches #345 Challenge.

For my CAS card, I combined a My Favorite Things die and stamp set (Die-namics Double the Smiles and All Smiles) with Carta Bella patterned paper and a Spellbinders flower (from the Die D-Lites Daisy set). I heat-embossed the sentiment from the All Smiles set with Ranger Red embossing powder.

On CAS cards, I tend to start out with the mindset of “Oh, this won’t take any time at all”! I quickly realize that because there are so few items on the card, the choices have to work just right. I obsessed a lot over the colors and patterned paper with this card.
