Penny Black – Floral Die Cuts

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a bold, summer-themed, CAS card created with Penny Black stamps and dies.

Penny Black Floral Die Cuts

I die-cut the larger blooms using one of the dies in the 51-262 Poinsettia Bough set (I used this die set on holiday cards shown here and here). The smaller bloom was cut with a die in the 51-050 Tweet Things set and the greenery with the 51-119 Flower Frolic die.

I heat-embossed one of the sentiments in the 30-418 Stitched Flowers set on black cardstock. To finish, I added butterflies cut with a die in the 51-132 Flights of Fancy. The background is a subtle woodgrain patterned paper. All of the colored cardstock is from Stampin’ Up.

Penny Black – Die-cut Summer Bouquet

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a summer-themed, die-cut card created with Penny Black stamps and dies.

Penny Black Summer-Themed Die-cut Bouquet

I cut the flowers using the 51-244 Gaiety and 51-242 Shall We Dance die sets, placing the flowers in a vase cut with the 51-142 Mason Jar set. I cut the blooms from green cardstock for the stems and various colors for the blooms. (All cardstock is from Stampin’ Up.) On the colored cardstock die-cuts, I trimmed the blooms from the stems and adhered them to the green die-cuts. I cut the jar from vellum, to which I had added double-sided adhesive. After cutting, but before adhering to the flowers, I added Distress Ink to the vellum to simulate water. I then removed the backing and adhered the jar to the top of the blooms placed on the dry-embossed background.

I stamped the sentiment from the 30-228 Blooming Tags stamp set and cut it with a small tag die. I put the burlap string around the top of the Mason Jar to add a natural element. The Mason Jar shadow was created with an oval die.

Penny Black – Bold CAS Card

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a bold CAS card created with Penny Black stamps and dies.

I cut the 51-235 Swirled Squares from black cardstock and adhered them to Stampin’ Up cardstock squares. To simplify alignment, I taped the squares together on the back. (I first considered adding white space between them, but that design didn’t leave enough margin on the sides and would have been more difficult to keep straight!) I added the assembled square to a card base stamped with one of the sentiments in the 30-418 Stitched Flowers set (a favorite as I’ve used it several times of late). To finish, I added butterflies cut with a die in the 51-132 Flights of Fancy (attached with foam adhesive).

Penny Black – Same CAS Design, Two Cards

Hello! Today, I’m sharing two cards with the same design featuring the Penny Black 51-232 Layered Scene die set.

For the first card, I cut the scene from two different cardstock colors, backed the scene with a soft blue, and added the assembly to a white card base on which I stamped one of the sentiments included in the 30-418 Stitched Flowers set. I matched the ink color to the soft brown in the scene.

For the second card, I chose brighter/more saturated colors and added the assembled scene to a dry-embossed card base.

I cut the sentiment with a die in the 51-284 Filled With Love set. (I cut the sentiment three times and glued the pieces together for extra depth.)

All of the colored cardstock is from Stampin’ Up. I’ve got a package of almost every color, as well as a lot of retired colors!

Penny Black Simplicity – It’s the Little Things

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a bright CAS card, suited for a variety of occasions, featuring a combination of Penny Black dies.

I cut the sentiment with the 51-340 Dream Big die several times for additional depth. I cut the fish with the 51-314 Fancy Fish die from a variety of cardstock colors. I used an embossing folder for the waves peeking out through the hole.
