Penny Black Simplicity – Winged Beauty

Today, I’m sharing two cards featuring Penny Black stamps #40-376 Winged Beauty and #30-297 Sprinkles and Smiles.

SoSweetBirdHorizontal

For both cards, I stamped the sentiment from #30-297 Sprinkles and Smiles first. I coloredthe bird on a branch and the branch images (from the #40-376 Winged Beauty set), with Memento markers before stamping. I tried a number of color combinations before selecting Bahama Blue, Tangelo, Bamboo Leaves and Rosebud. For the horizontal card, I cut the stamped panel with a rectangle die and adhered it with dimensional adhesive to a woodgrain-embossed cardstock.

SoSweetBirdVertical

For my second card, I stamped directly onto the card base for a one-layer card and used a vertical design.

Best Dad Ever

Today, I’m sharing a CAS Father’s Day card created with a variety of items in my stash.

FathersDayShirt

My youngest son is home this week between college terms, and he folded the origami shirt for me using an online tutorial with some scrapbook paper I’ve had for several years. I added a tie cut with the Penny Black Dapper [#51-049] die cut. (I trimmed the tie a bit and tucked it under the shirt collar.) The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up’s And Many More set.

Flower Sparks

I’m playing along with ColourQ #293 with a CAS card featuring floral images Penny Black’s Flower Sparks stamp set.

ColourQ-293

I used Post-it notes to mask when I stamped the 30-281 Flower Sparks images, so that I could have the stems a different color than the blooms. I added a sentiment from the versatile set 30-283 Snippets before cutting the image with a square die cut and matting it with another white cardstock square. The Island Indigo card base is 4 1/4″ square.
