Penny Black Classroom Valentines

Today, I’m sharing a project combining the adorable elephant from Penny Black’s  jumbo love  [#30-209] stamp set with classroom Valentine cards I created on my computer.

GrayElephantValentine

For my first classroom Valentine, I stamped and fussy cut the elephant on gray cardstock. The cards measure 3″ wide by 4″ tall – I designed the cards to fit into a Project Life page.

PinkElephantValentineI thought it would be fun to try the elephant in pink as well!

If you’re interested, I created a pdf download with the classroom Valentines (four to the page, two in each color). All you have to do is stamp the elephant! (Click on the link and select “download.” For some reason, the preview does not accurately depict the download and it will appear wonky. I don’t know why, but I’ve tested the download and it’s correct. 🙂 )

Happy Monday!

Penny Black Valentines

Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I’m sharing two cards made with the same design, both using the Penny Black Love Expressions die cut “I Love You” [#51-025].

ValentinesILoveYou1

For my first card, I used a heart-embossed white cardstock. I die cut a heart from the front panel and adhered acetate and vellum to the inside. I adhered the “I Love You” sentiment to the front of the acetate panel with Glossy Accents. I stamped the inside of the card with the Daisy Heart [#4291K] stamp. The vellum softens the appearance of the stamped image so that the sentiment takes center stage.

ValentinesILoveYou2For my second card, I dry-embossed a soft gray cardstock. The inside is stamped with with the Letter Background stamp [#1999L]. Because the pattern of the letters offered more white space on the background, I didn’t add the vellum to the front, only the acetate. I also rounded the corners and added a twine bow for additional color.

Penny Black “Jumbo Love”

Today, I’m sharing a Penny Black Valentine combining an image from the Penny Black jumbo love  [30-209] stamp set (an adorable set!) with a from the heart  [30-207] set sentiment.

JumboLoveI stamped the elephant on gray cardstock (Penny Black “mix & match” paper) with Versafine ink and heat-embossed it with clear powder, and then fussy-cut it. I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment and die cut it with a circle shape to resemble a ball, as you would find at the circus. I also stamped the elephant on a background (also Penny Black “mix & match” paper) as it’s difficult to fussy-cut the tail. The elephant is adhered with dimensional foam. I finished the card with some die cut hearts.

Penny Black Valentine’s Day Card

There’s been some wonderful inspiration over on the Penny Black Blog using the latest release Sending Hugs. In fact, Penny Black is holding a Sending Hugs challenge – read all about it here.

Today, I’m sharing a card using three stamp sets from the release – ooh la la [30-210], from the heart [30-207] and rose edging [30-206].

Penny Black Valentine's Day Card

I stamped one of the images from  rose edging twice on the card base. On a rectangular panel, I stamped and Copic-colored an image from ooh la la, combining it with a die-cut heart which was heat embossed with a sentiment from the from the heart set. I finished the card off with a white ribbon bow.
