SCC2: Week Three, Day Two

Today’s class in Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 was all about techniques. I chose to make a card like one of the ones Jennifer McGuire shared.

SSC2: Week Three, Day Three

Again, I’ve made some product substitutions based on what I own. Jennifer used a different Memory Box die that had larger leaves. Her gold embossing was exquisite! I was surprised to hear her say she was “all thumbs,” because if that’s the case, I’m not sure what I am! Suffice it to say, getting coats of gold embossing powder on the vine was no easy feat. I added Stickles to the flowers, berries and butterflies, although I’m not sure they show up in the photo. Jennifer used some embossing powders that gave wonderful zing to those elements. I used the Stickles for an easy substitution.

Pinspired Challenge #14

Welcome! It’s time for another Pinspired Challenge. The photo is for you to interpret anyway you want. Be inspired by the colors, the style, the theme – it’s up to you!
This challenge is sponsored by My Time Made Easy who are offering the winner a $10 gift certificate for use in their online store.

I drew from the floral theme and colors – peachy pink, minty green, gray – in the inspiration image for my card.

SCC2: Week Three, Day One

It’s a new week in Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 which means a new color scheme – two browns, blue, and two purples – and new sketches.

My card is based on the one shared by Jennifer McGuire in today’s class with a modification to the background.

SCC2: Week Three, Day One

Jennifer used a geometric-pattern stamp that she stamped in rows in pigment ink and then rotated 90 degrees and stamped in more rows in shadow ink to form an all-over pattern. I took a shortcut and stamped the Penny Black background in ColorBox white pigment ink and then in the shadow ink.

I’m sharing a card created with Lorelai Leaf, Lorelai Leaf Outline, and a Memory Box stamp, which I masked except for the “hello.”

SCC2: Week Two, Day Five

I’m absolutely blown away by the material and inspiration from the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2. It’s been quite a week! Today, I’m sharing my CASE of a card crafted by Jessica Witty.

SCC2: Week Two, Day Five

Jessica used a combination of stamps on her card, which had two vellum overlays. There were three stamped images – one on white, two on vellum. I tried a variety of stamps but just didn’t have three that would work together in the same way. The Penny Black Longing set was the one that I ultimately chose as it had two pieces that leaned into one another. That vellum overlay is “hanging on” with some glue behind the gems I added to the flower centers and a thin line of adhesive at the top.

They say that you learn the most when you make mistakes. I’ve made a lot of mistakes this week so I’m pretty certain I’m learning! Now to clean my workspace (aka the kitchen table) as it’s covered with my crafting items from this week! Have a fabulous weekend.
