SCC2: Week Two, Day Five

I’m absolutely blown away by the material and inspiration from the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2. It’s been quite a week! Today, I’m sharing my CASE of a card crafted by Jessica Witty.

SCC2: Week Two, Day Five

Jessica used a combination of stamps on her card, which had two vellum overlays. There were three stamped images – one on white, two on vellum. I tried a variety of stamps but just didn’t have three that would work together in the same way. The Penny Black Longing set was the one that I ultimately chose as it had two pieces that leaned into one another. That vellum overlay is “hanging on” with some glue behind the gems I added to the flower centers and a thin line of adhesive at the top.

They say that you learn the most when you make mistakes. I’ve made a lot of mistakes this week so I’m pretty certain I’m learning! Now to clean my workspace (aka the kitchen table) as it’s covered with my crafting items from this week! Have a fabulous weekend.

  1. I think the card is beautiful. That vellum is always hard to find the right spot for the adhesive. I think no matter what stamps you have, you will always want some more.
With the beautiful work you do, I would have thought you would have had a very fancy craft space. You have impressed me even more.

    1. I’ve got Miss Ginger, our Golden Retriever, at my feet, unless she’s at the door wanting to go outside or come back inside (which is a frequent occurrence). 🙂 It’s a very cozy setup, ha ha!

  2. This is gorgeous…orange is my favorite color and I can never use it this well on a card. Your ink on the vellum looks perfect and crisp and those stamp were a great choice.

  3. I really love the stamps and color palette you chose for this card, Jean! So beautifully executed, too! At the end of week 2, I have to say you go straight to the head of the class…Your cards are absolutely Stunning!

I never finished my card yesterday…I read the instructions 1/2 way through, and couldn’t save it…Oh well!
