Today, I’m sharing a holiday card created with Penny Black die cuts and a Penny Black background stamp. I had in mind the “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” tree lighting while making this card. Tonight, the tree will be lit for the first time this holiday season!
I paired the Penny Black Xmas Tree [51-012] die cut, cut in silver and green cardstock and pieced together, with the “Joy” sentiment from the Love & Joy [51-021] die cut set. I cut the “Joy” sentiment twice, once in silver and once in the red cardstock. I adhered the two together in order to give the sentiment some depth so that it would lay on top of the tree die cut. I positioned it so that the swoop of the “J’ intersected with the curved line encircling the tree. I stamped the card base with the Circle & Lines [40-084] background stamp and heat embossed it with silver powder. As I explained in an earlier post, showing a card made with the Xmas Tree die cut, I really like adding metallic accents to my cards at this time of year!
You captured it perfectly! Love the fit of the JOY with the tree! Great design work Jean!
Such a STUNNING card, Jean! I love the color combo and how you wrapped the swoop of the ‘J’ around the tree! I love the soft gray background pattern, too…it’s perfect with your design!
This is absolutely stunning!! I just love the Penny Black Xmas Tree die and the silver background embossing in beautiful.
What a clever way of using these 2 PB dies. Just a lovely card! And, yes, I love the metallic effect as well. Thanks for sharing.
The joy die cut is so pretty. I also like your background stamp.
