Today I’m sharing a card celebrating summer – the idea of taking a break and relaxing, possibly traveling someplace with palm trees! – featuring new Impression Obsession dies, as well as other dies in my collection.
I cut the Woody multiple times with a variety of cardstocks including woodgrain, birch and vellum, to provide texture and color. The sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions’ Hangin’ Out – At the Beach stamp set.
Supplies: Impression Obsession Woody with Surfboard and Palm Trees; Lawn Fawn Spring Showers; TE Build-a-Scene – Rolling Hills dies and Hangin’ Out – At the Beach stamp set

These dies are DEFINITELY moving to the top of my wish list after seeing your AWESOME card. I have a question about assembling Woody. You indicated in your description that you cut Woody out several times using different mediums. How do you adhere the vellum, birch, and wood grain panels to the car’s side?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Hi Judy – Thank you! There are a couple of different ways you could piece the car together. I cut the woodgrain car first, and that is serving as the base layer. I then removed the trim piece, around the paneling, and replaced it with the birch. I punched out the windows and backed those with vellum from behind. Finally I added the orange car piece on top. The vellum is taped onto the back. I also added some tape on the back to hold in the woodgrain panels. The birch piece and orange car base are attached with 2-way glue. Hope that helps!
Wow! You made this look real! Reminds me of some trips I took with my brother, always hauling a kayak or canoe.
What a great die! I love that car and love that you used the woodgrain for both the panels and the trees, fantastic!
Fantastic card Jean – I love the car, great job!
Jean, now I have the beach boys playing in my head! Fantastic card.
