Hello! Today, I am delighted to be sharing two CAS projects created with the August Small Die Of The Month kit from Spellbinders. These cards took very little time to put together!
I created a “cheer up” card and a holiday card with the set. The birds, flourishes, frames, and flower lend themselves to a number of different occasions! First a look at the “cheer up” card.
I cut the pieces from cardstock to which I had applied watercolor and Distress Inks. I heat-embossed the birds with clear embossing powder. The background was dry-embossed with the Spellbinders SES-006 Circles and Diamonds embossing folder. I added Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flowers.
Now the holiday card.
For the holiday card, I cut the frame, flourish, and birds from cardstock to which I had applied double-sided adhesive. I applied microfine glitter to the pieces before adding them to a piece of patterned paper on which I had stamped the sentiment.
I already have more ideas swirling around my head for the pieces in the kit. Head over to the Spellbinders blog for info about the kit and more inspiration!
those birds will come in handy – so versatile for all the seasons.
So lovely!!! I love the swirls and the little birds are fantastic!!
Jean, As usual, love your cards. I am guessing you are a member in this die club. I have had an interest in the Spellbinders Small Die Monthly club but cannot find an answer to this question. If I subscribe, as the new die is announced, do I have an option after seeing it to email them and pass on that month. Also, they never mention the shipping charges associated with the monthly kits. The club seems like an affordable way to get some fun dies. You are the best artist I know who makes cards with just dies!
Thank you, Susan! I emailed you with more info.
Darling cards with the little birdies, Jean! Especially love the cheer up card with the bitty flowers!!
Those little birds are adorable Jean. I love the colour combos you have chosen. Great job on these cards.
