Hello Sunshine – Die-cut Tropical-themed Card

Hello! Today, I am sharing a tropical-themed card created from a variety of products in my stash.

Hello Sunshine - Die-cut Tropical-themed Card

  • My starting point for the card was the Newton’s Nook Tropical Leaves stencil which I sponged with Shabby Shutters ink on Easter Grass cardstock.
  • I used the Penny Black Poinsettia die to cut the blooms from SU Melon Mambo and Bazzill Circus Peanuts. The centers were cut from Marshmallow Chick. I used the Penny Black Flower Frolic die to cut the greenery from SU Gumball Green (now retired) and attached the blooms to the greenery with foam adhesive.
  • I heat-embossed the FSJ Touch the Sky sentiment on to white cardstock which I cut with a circle die.
  • For whatever reason, I’ve been feeling the need to add sequins to my cards lately. I tried a number of different colors before choosing yellow sequins from Doodlebug.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spellbinders June Small Die Kit Club – Christmas Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month die set “Kaleidoscope Trio” (June 2019). This card was just a happy accident; I didn’t set out to make a Christmas card! My first round of cards created with this die set can be found in this post.

  • For the back layer, I cut white cardstock with the die set’s hexagon bottom die.
  • I used one of the detailed hexagon dies to cut the top layer from Lawn Fawn Peacock, Stampin’ Up Melon Mambo, and Gina K Tranquil Teal cardstock.
  • I used spray adhesive to adhere the top layers to the back layers. I then taped the hexagons together on the back.
  • I stamped the All Year Long sentiment on to a Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass panel with FSJ Fusion ink.
  • I attached the “snowflake” assembly to the card base with spray adhesive.
  • I added sequins for sparkle and to help fill in the white space.

Spellbinders/FSJ Hello Summer

Hello! Today I’m delighted to be sharing three cards over on the Spellbinders blog featuring new summer-themed products, part of the Hello Summer – Splash Zone Collection. I’m a big fan of anything ocean-themed and fascinated the different takes on that theme in papercrafting – nautical, tropical, and everything in-between.

The details on how I created the cards can be found in this post. I hope you’ll head on over to learn more and leave a comment. Below, I’ve shared photos of the projects and the supply list.

Penny Black – CAS Thank You

Hello! Today, I am sharing a quick-and-easy CAS card featuring Penny Black supplies. I tried a number of different color combinations before settling on this one. I’m a big fan of combining bold colors with black and white.

Penny Black - CAS Thank You

  • I cut the 51-235 Swirled Squares from black cardstock and adhered them to cardstock squares cut from Stampin’ Up Melon Mambo, Bazzill Circus Peanuts, and SU Bermuda Bay. I used spray adhesive to adhere the square frames.
  • I added the squares to a card base measuring 6″ x 3 1/2″ on which I had stamped a sentiment from the 30-281 Flower Sparks set.
  • I cut the butterflies with a die in the 51-132 Flights of Fancy set and added  them to the card with foam adhesive.

Fourth of July – Die-cut MFT Birdhouse

Hello! Today I am sharing a card showcasing the Birds of a Feather and Birdhouse die sets from My Favorite Things. This design is the same as the card I shared here. I changed out the colors and created a sentiment on my computer to make a Fourth of July card. I love red, white, and blue, patterned paper, and die-cutting – this card covers all three!

Fourth of July - Die-cut MFT Birdhouse

  • I die-cut the birds, birdhouse, and floral pieces from Neenah Solar White,  SU Daffodil Delight, SU Garden Green, SU Real Red, FSJ Black Licorice, and patterned paper in my stash.
  • I assembled the pieces with Tonic Nuvo glue and added them to a panel cut from SU So Saffron (on which I had printed the computer-generated sentiment) with a now-retired MFT Blueprints set.
  • Although the Birdhouse set includes a post, I wanted my sentiment to go below the birdhouse, so I added a string of cardstock cut with the IO Vintage Ornament die to hang the birdhouse from the top of the card.

Hope your week is off to a terrific start!
