Hello! I’m sharing another take on the Santa scene shown in this post. This time, I made the card vertical.
- I cut the #51-459 Neighborhood Border from white cardstock and trimmed off the border from the right-hand side to fit the 4 1/4″ width. I backed the windows with gold foil.
- I heat-embossed the #30-257 Joy Filled sentiment in gold powder on navy cardstock (Stampin’ Up Night of Navy).
- I cut Santa and his team of reindeer (with #51-560 Here Comes…) and the snowflakes (#51-268 A Blizzard and #51-080 Around Town) from white cardstock and added them to the nighttime scene. The Santa and reindeer was added with foam adhesive.
I particularly like this color scheme for Christmas cards, something that goes back to my childhood. My grandmother collected all of the cards that she received during the holiday season and kept them in a special box. My parents, my brother, and I traveled to her house every year either on Christmas Eve or December 23. Soon after we arrived, she and I would go through the box. Cards with gold and silver and dark jewel tones really stood out.
ITs beautiful.
Love this version with the gold sentiment on the rich blue, Jean! Such a fun Santa die!!
You have made that santa die look great again with a new color! I love the story of looking at the cards. This craft of yours had a young beginning. Great card.
