Penny Black Groovy Greenery

Hello! Today I am sharing an encouragement card created with Penny Black stamp sets from their new “Refreshing” release. You can see another card created with supplies from this release here.

Penny Black Groovy Greenery

  • To begin, I stamped the 30-712 Words of Encouragement sentiment on to white cardstock.
  • With a mask, I applied Distress Oxide inks at a horizon line for the sky and the ground. I use a strip of vellum for the sharp line. I cut the panel with a rectangle die.
  • Using the 30-701 Groovy Greenery stamp set, I stamped the vases with pigment ink that I heat-embossed with clear powder. I fussy-cut the vases.
  • For the plants, I applied green inks to white cardstock with a sponge dauber that I then stamped the plant images from the 30-701 Groovy Greenery set with green ink. I fussy cut the plants.
  • I assembled the vases and plants.
  • I dry-embossed the card base with the TE Weathered embossing folder. I matted the stamped panel with a slightly larger white rectangle.
  • I added one plant with dot adhesive and the other with foam adhesive.

  1. Layering the flower pots gives a great dimension effect. You have mastered that tumbled glass background. Really a very cool card!
