Penny Black Simplicity Watercolored Flowers

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS watercolored thank you card featuring the Penny Black stamp set 30-418 Stitched Flowers from the BLISS 2017 release.

I stamped the floral image with VersaFine ink on Arches watercolor paper and colored it with watercolors, watercolor pencils, and Distress Inks. Once dry, I stamped the sentiment. I added the panel to a card base which I colored with Distress Inks to match the floral blooms. To finish it off, I added a die-cut frame cut from gray cardstock.

  1. Could you share how you did the blue background or at what point you colored it? Love it!!

    1. Hi Liane, it’s been awhile since I created this card. Here’s what I’m guessing I did – I know I colored the background after I colored the blooms. I probably colored it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, applying the ink close to the stems and then spreading the ink out.
