Stretch Your Dies Day Two

I’m still working through the lessons from the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Dies class. Today, I’m sharing a card inspired by the techniques shown by Kristina Werner in the Day Two lesson.

Day Two

I colored a piece of watercolor paper with Distress Inks and then die cut the star shapes. Kristina went on to take her shapes and arrange them in a cluster that she cut with a circle die. It’s a cool technique, but I decided I didn’t think it would add anything to my design. I finished the card with an apt sentiment.

I like coloring watercolor paper with Distress Inks and then cutting the paper with dies, so that each die cut has a different color pattern. Ideally I would have a stack of watercolored panels on hand to die cut!

Avery Elle Birthday Challenge

I’m sharing a card I created for the first challenge over on the AEI♥U Challenge Blog – the theme is Birthday.

I have a friend with a birthday in May, close to Cinco de Mayo, for whom this would be perfect! The bright colors against a kraft base make me happy (especially as it’s been raining here in the Pacific Northwest on and off for about twenty-four hours)! I invested in some of the new Avery Elle stamp pads to stamp the banners. I especially like the Aquamarine!

I was inspired by the  both the theme and the colors in the Pinterest image. I stamped the Avery Elle Funky Monkey in three bright colors.

Grayson Card Drive

I made this card for Grayson and his brother Aydan with the help of some friends, who supplied the stamp set and the twine, at a crafty retreat I attended this past weekend.

Grayson Card Drive

I used the Avery Elle What’s Up? set combined with Memory Box die cut letters for a colorful “hello” card. The twine is from Timeless Twine. I’ve never used their product before, and I really liked how easily it tied. This is a large card – 4″ wide by 7″ tall.
