Spellbinders January 2022 Large Die Kit Club

Hello crafty friends and happy 2022! I’m delighted to share a Valentine’s Day project created with the Spellbinders January 2022 Large Die of the Month “A Pocket Full of Love.” Read more about the set here.

This unique die set creates a pocket in which to place a note, a photo, a gift card, and more. The enclosure is revealed by pulling up the heart. I enclosed a photo of my grandparents taken during their honeymoon in 1921.

Die-cut the pocket from Snowdrift cardstock, score on three sides. Die-cut the details from silver, red, Snowdrift, and light-blue cardstock. Assemble.
Dry-emboss A2-size card base with the January 2022 Embossing Folder “Spreading Love” from light-blue cardstock. This is a brand-new kit club.
Tape pocket to dry-embossed background.
Die-cut heart and details, as well as the enclosure panel. Adhere heart to the enclosure panel.
Glimmer-foil More Sentiments sentiment in Matte Silver on Snowdrift cardstock and cut with banner die in the Mini Sincere Sentiments set; add to pocket. Embellish with hearts cut from silver foil using a die in the Heart to Heart Tag set.

Spellbinders Be Bold Color Block Love You

Hello from the cold and snowy Pacific Northwest. Today I am sharing a CAS Valentine’s Day card created with the recently-released Be Bold Color Block Love You die set at Spellbinders. The Be Bold Color Block collection features die sets with which you can quickly and easily create bold and graphic greetings. I previously shared cards created with a Christmas die from the collection in this post.

With the Be Bold Color Block Love You die set, I cut the “LOVE” letters from colored paper in red and three shades of pink. I adhered the letters to Snowdrift cardstock for stability. I die-cut the “you” from white glitter cardstock which I also adhered to Snowdrift cardstock.

I taped the “LOVE” letters on the back and attached the assembly to blue paper (from the Echo Park Celebrate Winter collection).

Rubbernecker Santa in a Boat

Ho ho ho! Today I am sharing a last-minute holiday card featuring several Rubbernecker die sets. I previously used the Santa die here and here. One of the first times we took our sons to see Santa was in Mystic, Connecticut, where Santa arrived by boat.

I stenciled embossing paste through the Large Falling Snow stencil on to blue cardstock for the background.
While the snow dried, I die-cut and assembled the Santa and Fishing Boat (cut from holiday colors).
I used the Lawn Fawn Waves to complete the scene, which I framed with the Deckle Frame.

Spellbinders – Garden Shutters Collection

Hello! Today I am shifting gears from the winter holidays and sharing a friendship card created with the Eyelet Lace Frame set, part of the just-released Garden Shutters Collection by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders. The layers in the set make it effortless to create a distinctive card! The outside scallop is 7 inches wide x 5 inches tall.

With the Eyelet Lace Frame set, cut the detailed layers and the outline layers. I used a color palette of navy, Snowdrift, and Brushed Gold cardstock.
Adhere the outline layers to the backs of the detailed layers.
Assemble layers.
Cut sentiment with the Sweet Sayings Notecard Sentiments from Brushed Gold cardstock. I cut the sentiment twice for extra depth.
Embellish with flowers cut from Snowdrift and Brushed Gold cardstock using the Mini Blooms and Sprigs set.

Penny Black Winter Wishes

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS winter-themed card created with Penny Black supplies. Although, I used Christmas colors, the design could be created in non-Christmas colors for a winter friendship card. This design is similar to a card I made at the same time last year. What’s different with this version? Most notably, it’s A2-sized, and I used the 30-881 When Snow Falls sentiment and a die in the 51-717 Border Collection. By using the Border Collection edge, I eliminated the need to frame the card.

I heat-embossed the 30-881 When Snow Falls sentiment in Red Geranium on off-white cardstock and trimmed the panel.
I cut the 51-667 Winter Greens from green cardstock.
I cut the strip from the same green cardstock (to finish off the left-side edge of the 51-667 Winter Greens) using one of the 51-717 Border Collection dies.
I cut the birds from red cardstock with dies in the 51-657 Wildwood set.
I glued the Winter Greens/Border Collection assembly to the sentiment panel and added the birds with foam adhesive.
I added Stickles to the berries.
