Thoughts of Hope – Penny Black Flowers

Hello! Today I am sharing a card created with Penny Black supplies spreading the message of hope in these uncertain times. Crafting keeps me grounded these days.

I added Tumbled Glass ink to the center of a white cardstock card base.
I stamped an inspiring sentiment from the #30-703 Blooming Sentiments set in black ink.
I cut the flowers, foliage, shelf, watering can, tools, and butterfly with the #51-635 Buckets of Flowers, #51-510 A Garden, and the #51-610 Hydrangea die sets.
I glued the items to the shelf and the assembly to the panel. The butterfly was added to the scene with foam adhesive.

Spellbinders – Die-cut Friendship Scene

Hello! This is a CAS friendship card of hope – that life will return to a time in which we can stop social distancing and self-isolating. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we’re hoping while we stay at home. I’m crafting to keep my wits about me. Imagine the pleasure of a simple coffee date with a friend.

I die-cut the Spellbinders Layered Friends Forever café scene from black cardstock into which I inlaid the awning colors. I dry-embossed the back piece with the Inspire embossing folder.

The Layered Friends Forever die set includes an additional die (which cuts a sentiment that goes on the front of the café scene). Instead of using that layer, I stamped the MFT Cup of Love sentiment on to the yellow background. If you’d like to see the scene with the die-cut sentiment check out this post.

Penny Black – In Bloom

Hello! Today I am sharing a card created with Penny Black supplies celebrating spring! The cherry trees are in bloom everywhere I look at the moment.

I added Tumbled Glass ink to a the center of a white cardstock card base with a sponge dauber.
I stamped a sentiment in the #30-703 Blooming Sentiments set in black ink in the center of the card base.
I cut the branches, flowers, and leaves with the #51-618 Swinging die set.
I glued the branches to the panel and trimmed off the excess from both sides.
I glued the leaves and flowers to the branches.
I added butterflies, cut with dies in the #51-132 Flights of Fancy set, to the scene with foam adhesive.

Lawn Fawn Hello Spring

Hello! Today I am sharing an Easter-/spring-scene created with Lawn Fawn supplies. It’s a sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest.

I die-cut the pieces using the Build-A-House, Build-A-House Christmas (door), and the Scalloped Treat Box Spring Add-On die sets. I assembled the house and tree with glue.
I stamped the sentiment (masking part of it) on to white cardstock and cut it with the medium-sized cloud die. I also cut a cloud with the largest die in the same set.
I added a 3/4″ Field Day (green) cardstock strip to the Sea Glass (light blue) card base. Note: the card base is 5 1/2″ wide by 4 3/4″ tall to accommodate the height of the house. (The house can be assembled to be shorter by placing the roof lower and the bottom board higher.)
I attached the assembled pieces with dot roller and foam adhesive to the base.

Penny Black Peeps Parade

Hello! Today I am sharing a playful, spring- and/or Easter-themed card inspired by Peeps, the marshmallow candy. I die-cut the elements using a variety of Penny Black sets, including several from the newest collection – Secret Garden.

Using the #51-596 Bird and Branch set, I cut the chicks from bright cardstock – SU Tempting Turquoise (now retired), SU Pineapple Punch, and Taylored Expressions Lollipop. I adhered their eyes and beaks.
I used the #51-630 Rolling Hills and #51-623 Pretty Picket sets to create a background for the scene.
I die-cut the sentiment using the #51-040 Hello Frame die.
I embellished the scene with butterflies cut with one of the butterfly dies in the #51-132 Flights of Fancy set.

I used several of these same supplies on this card.
