Spellbinders CAS Christmas Cards

Hello! Today I am sharing two CAS cards featuring products from the 3D Holiday Vignettes at Spellbinders, designed by Becca Feeken. A few months ago, I shared projects with these same products, which you can see here. I don’t always have the time to create projects as detailed as those, so I created two more cards using just the focal image dies in those sets. Let’s take a look!

Spellbinders CAS Christmas Cards

On the first card, I used the Santa Claus die set to cut Whip Cream cardstock for the focal image. I used the circle die in that set to cut a light green cardstock with which to back the image. I added the assembly to a red cardstock base on which I heat-embossed a sentiment.

My second card features the Reindeer Prance set. I cut the focal image from Whip Cream cardstock and backed it with the same soft green as in the first card. I added the assembly to a dry-embossed background and added the heat-embossed sentiment.

Deco Foil Ornament Card

Hello. Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas-card created with a foil product I’ve never used before – the Ornamental Deco Foil Toner Sheets. The package includes toner sheets on white cardstock and clear sheets. This card uses the clear sheet.

  • I laminated the sheet (which I cut to an A2-size) with the Red Static foil.
  • I applied the foiled sheet to patterned paper by applying tape runner to the backs of the foiled ornaments.
  • I added a die-cut sentiment (PTI) which I attached to an ornament cut with Impression Obsession dies (Round and Vintage); I used the body of the one and the hanger and bow from the other.

This would be an easy card to mass produce.

Penny Black – At the Tree Farm

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a Christmas scene card, created with Penny Black die sets from the Merry and Joy release, in which I’ve envisioned a trip to the Christmas tree farm. Let’s take a look!

Penny Black - At the Tree Farm

  • For the card background, I adhered vellum to patterned paper (Carta Bella Christmas ) to soften it.
  • I cut the #51-571 Vintage Truck from cardstock including Riding Hood Red (retired Stampin’ Up) for the truck body .
  • The #51-574  …Bright sentiment was cut from the same red cardstock and from silver foil cardstock. I tried several cardstock colors for the sentiment including brushed silver and white. This combination of the red and the shiny silver worked the best.
  • The #51-567 Tree Border was die cut from white cardstock and directly added to the background. The border does not cut the bottom portion so the tree border can be cut to the size that you want.

Fall Coffee-Themed Friendship Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS coffee-themed card featuring My Favorite Things supplies in fall colors. Does the card look familiar? I shared a winter-themed card of the same design in this post.

Fall Coffee-Themed Friendship Card

I die-cut the Mini Café All Day pieces from brown textured cardstock, warm-white cardstock, and patterned paper and assembled the cups.

I cut the Polaroid Shaker Frame and stamped the Sweater Weather in the Woods sentiment on to the frame in Espresso Truffle ink, after I cut it out. (I did this on a stamp press.) I added patterned paper to the back of the frame and added the assembled coffee cups. I adhered the assembly to the patterned paper background.

This amazing 21-piece set includes all of the pieces with which to construct the slider card, in addition to a number of smaller dies with which to customize the slider card for a variety of occasions and seasons. Given the time of year, I used the set’s snowflake dies on my projects.

My cards are similar, as both use Die D-Lite sets as the focal image and the same patterned paper. There are a couple of differences upon which I’ll elaborate.

My first card showcases the Die D-Lites Woliver set.

I die-cut and constructed the walrus from solid cardstock. I constructed the slider card from both patterned paper and solid cardstock. Snowflakes adorn the circle frame.

To make things easy for myself, I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut it out with a rectangle die. I then added the sentiment to the piece that is pulled to slide the easel up (alternately I could have stamped the sentiment on to the piece that is pulled). A sentiment can easily be included in the top portion (or in the bottom portion, in lieu of something else).

I dry-embossed the piece that is pulled up with the Falala Bold embossing folder from a soft-blue cardstock that coordinates with the patterned paper.

The area revealed easily fits a gift card (adhered with a temporary adhesive dot to the card back). I used a Starbucks gift card because that’s one of my favorite gift cards to receive!

My second card features the Die D-Lites Snowman.

Spellbinders Winter-Themed Slider Cards

I die-cut and constructed the snowman. I constructed the slider card from both patterned paper and solid cardstock. The snowflakes adorn the circle frame and the snowman’s hat. Just as before, to make things easy for myself, I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut it out with a rectangle die. I then added the sentiment to the piece that is pulled to slide up the card.
