Simon Says Stamp – STAMPtember!

Wow, it’s September! What a fabulous time of year – lots of beginnings are always in store in September! Today, I’m sharing a card created with the Simon Says Stamp Presents and Ornaments stamp set, released as part of the Stamptember event.

Simon Says Stamp - STAMPtember!

For my card, I stamped the Presents and Ornaments packages and bows. I pulled out my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the packages aligned! I tried the design in a number of different package and bow color combinations, ultimately deciding on a somewhat traditional color combination of red, green and gold.

The Cutting Edge Challenge #9

It’s time for the another Cutting Edge Challenge! Our inspiration this week is an amazing card created by Design Team member Lisa Addesa.

Here’s my take on her card:

The Cutting Edge Challenge #9

I rotated the card which put more flowers on the left-hand side (corresponding with the upper-left corner of Lisa’s card). I chose a multi-line sentiment, like Lisa’s, that combines a script font with a san-serif one. I also used some of the colors that Lisa used on her flowers.

SYS2 Day 10

Today I’m sharing a CASE of Laurie Willison‘s lovely card from Day 10 of the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamps 2 class.

SYS2 Day 10

The Day 10 lesson focused on cards using the Botanicals 2 set. Following Laurie’s instructions, to create the letters, I stamped a few of the botanical stamps on white cardstock with the pink ink, cut them with the Cole’s ABCs set, and then adhered them to foam, which had also been die cut. The card panel was stamped with a larger stamp from the Botanicals set. Laurie used some white dots on her card (the perfect accent). I don’t have any, so I used white sequins instead.

Penny Black Leap of Joy

Today, I’m sharing a winter holiday card created with recently released Penny Black stamps and dies. For this card, the gold foil deer, cut with the 51-062 Leap of Joy die, takes center stage.

Penny Black Leap of Joy

To begin, I stamped the card base in a matching ink with the 40-350 Tree-Lined stamp for a tone-on-tone background. (I’ll be reaching for this background stamp again and again for holiday cards.) I cut white cardstock with the 51-057 Polaroid die, onto which I heat embossed the “Seasons Greetings” sentiment, from the 30-255 Most Wonderful set, with gold embossing powder. I added some vellum behind the Polaroid frame onto which I attached the die-cut deer with dimensional adhesive. I debated with my son and husband about the gold cord. As minimalists, they both vetoed the cord, whereas I decided a little extra bling couldn’t hurt.

End of Summer – Relax!

Today I’m sharing a card celebrating summer – the idea of taking a break and relaxing, possibly traveling someplace with palm trees! – featuring new Impression Obsession dies, as well as other dies in my collection.

End of Summer - Relax!

I cut the Woody multiple times with a variety of cardstocks including woodgrain, birch and vellum, to provide texture and color. The sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions’ Hangin’ Out – At the Beach stamp set.

Supplies: Impression Obsession Woody with Surfboard and Palm Trees; Lawn Fawn Spring Showers; TE Build-a-Scene – Rolling Hills dies and  Hangin’ Out – At the Beach stamp set
