Conversation Birds

Today, I’m sharing a CAS Valentine’s Day card created with Penny Black stamps and die cuts.

I used the Penny Black 30-207 From the Heart set for the heat-embossed sentiments, 51-094 Tweets die set for the birds and two of the 50-003 Chat Bubbles dies.

I’m playing along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #255.

I got the idea to use the tree stamp from the Penny Black 40-187 Love Birds set after seeing Sarah Bigelow’s card. With the tree stamped, I begin mixing and matching patterned papers from the We R Memory Keepers Love Notes pad. I tend to cut all of the elements in a variety of papers/colors before making my choices. Needless to say, it can take quite a bit of time! I added a sentiment heat embossed with Penny’s Black 30-160 Friendship set and added a bird cut with the 51-094 Tweets die. I’m obsessed with that particular bird, especially as I often want to have an element pointing into the center of the card and that one fits the bill!

Colour Me #56 Playful

Today, I’m sharing a card made for the Colour Me Challenge with Penny Black supplies.

I went back and forth on the colors, trying to decided which element should be which color, especially the yellow and orange. Although the elements are well-suited for Valentine’s Day, they’d work for any season! In this case I was thinking about spring.

I used Penny Black’s 51-100 Tree of Love as a branch on which to place the bird, cut with the 51-094 Tweets die. The frame was created with the 51-057 Polaroid die onto which I heat embossed a sentiment from 30-269 So Very Much.

It’s o”fish”al!

Today, I’m sharing an ocean-themed card in tropical colors with another punny Reverse Confetti sentiment paired with Confetti Cuts.

To begin, I cut the waves with the Doin’ the Wave Confetti Cuts set in three cardstock colors and layered them together. The heart was cut with Love Note. (I cut a string of hearts with the die then put the cut piece back into the die and cut again, which cleanly cut off one of the hearts.) The fish were cut on my Silhouette. The heart and fish are attached to the waves with dimensional adhesive.
