PB Simplicity – Let It Snow

Hello! Today I’m sharing a CAS winter card created with Penny Black supplies. Even though these products were intended for holiday card making, I’m enjoying creating winter-themed cards that aren’t specifically Christmas-y.

PB Simplicity Snow Mice

I stamped the sledding mice image from 30-385 Santa’s Helpers on watercolor paper and colored it with watercolor pencils and watercolor paint. For the sentiment, I used the 51-082 Snow Wishes die to cut watercolor paper twice. I trimmed the top part of the sentiment (which says “Let it” away on both die cuts and glued them together for extra depth.

I hope you’ll head over to the Penny Black Simplicity blog where I have another winter-themed card also using the 51-082 Snow Wishes die.

Avery Elle – Winter Hello

Hello. Today, I’m sharing a winter-themed hello created with Avery Elle supplies.

I’m still embracing my seasonal supplies, such as the Falling Snow die and Penguin Greetings stamp set, and trying to find ways to use them for non-Christmas projects. I stamped the penguins and paper-pieced their clothing. I chose bright colors for their sweaters in colors other than green and red!

Cozy Winter Scene – Taylored Expressions

Hello. Today, I’m sharing a cozy fireplace scene. I’m not quite ready to say “good bye” to the holidays. This card is seasonal without being Christmas-y.

TE By the Fireside

As I created the card, I thought about the fireplace mantel once the stockings are down. I cut the By the Fireside mantel from patterned paper, as well as the strip simulating the rug and the card background. I framed a piece of patterned paper for the artwork above the mantel. To keep it cozy, I added candles (By the Fireside – Holidays) and a coffee mug (Build a Scene – Bistro) to the scene!

Hope your last week of December is filled with special moments!

Penny Black Simplicity – All is Calm

Hello and Merry Christmas! I’m sharing a CAS Christmas card created with Penny Black supplies.

Penny Black Simplicity

I die-cut the 51-280 Ornamental Birds from gold foil and placed them on a watercolored circle background. I cut equal strips of grey cardstock for the card base background. I heat-embossed the 30-387 Festive Snippets sentiment with gold powder on one of the bands.

Penny Black Simplicity – Christmas Birds

Hello! I’m sharing a CAS holiday card created with Penny Black supplies.

Penny Black Simplicity Winter Birds

I colored the watercolor paper background with inks and watercolor paint using the smooshing technique. Separately, I colored watercolor paper with red watercolor, from which I cut the birds using the 51-206 The Sweetest Sound II die. Once the background was dry, I stamped the 30-382 Yuletide Wishes sentiment. For texture and visual interest, I added snowflakes cut with the 51-268 A Blizzard die set.
