Penny Black Birdhouse Valentine

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Valentine card created with Penny Black supplies, both old and new.

I die-cut the #51-503 Rustic Birdhouse die and assembled it. I really like the woodgrain that the die creates.
I die-cut the birds using the #51-094 Tweets and #51-050 Tweet Things sets. I backed the birds with cardstock from behind.
I applied Distress Ink to the background and stamped the #30-667 Love Language sentiment in the corner.
I added the birdhouse to the base and added the birds with foam adhesive.

Paper Smooches Challenge – Anything Goes

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Valentines-themed Thank You (a Valenthanks?!) created with Paper Smooches products for their Anything Goes Challenge featuring the Cozy Coffee die set.

Because take-out coffee cup colors are often black, white, and tan, I knew I needed some color on this card from another source. I found patterned paper in my stash and started building from there.

I heat-embossed the Winter Sampler sentiment for additional polish. I often forget what a little heat-embossing can add to a sentiment.

Penny Black – Watercolored Little Charmer

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Valentine card featuring Penny Black supplies from the “Share the Love” collection.

I stamped the #30-662 Little Charmer bear image in Versafine ink on Cold Press watercolor paper and watercolored him.
Once dry, I cut the bear with its companion die (I’m thrilled that Penny Black is creating these companion dies for many of their images).
I sponged Squeezed Lemonade ink on to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ panel.
I stamped the #30-667 Love Language sentiment in black ink on the panel.
I added the panel to a white linen cardstock base and added the bear to the assembly with foam adhesive.

Doodles of Love – Penny Black Valentine

Hello! Today, I have another CAS Valentine’s Day card created with supplies from the just-released Penny Black “Share the Love” collection.

I cut the #51-594 Doodles of Love arrows from red and white cardstock.
I heat-embossed the #30-667 Love Language sentiment on to red cardstock and cut it with a die in the #51-498 Stars and Circles set.
I added the arrows to the card base with adhesive, varying the direction, style, and color of the arrows in their placement.
I added the sentiment circle above the arrows with foam adhesive.

Elizabeth Craft Designs – Honey Bear Valentine

Hello! Today I have a CAS Valentine created entirely with dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

- I cut the Honey Bear (now retired) pieces from soft-finish cardstock. I colored the bear’s body with Vintage Photo and Tea Dye inks with sponge applicators. I colored the nose with Walnut Stain ink and the eyes with a black Copic marker. I used a Taylored Expressions set to cut the mouth (I also colored it with a Copic marker).
- I cut the LOVE frame with the Peek-a-Boo Love set (now retired) from red and white cardstock, piecing the white letters into the frame. The heart and cupcake were cut with the same set.
- Once I had the bear assembled, I placed him into the frame. I added the assembly to a patterned paper base.
