Penny Black – Adorn

Hello! Today I am sharing another card created with die sets in the just-released Penny Black collection – Season of Hope. This CAS holiday card took only a few minutes to assemble.

The star of the card is the ornament created with the 51-666 Adorn set. I backed the ornament, cut from red foil, with white cardstock. I cut its topper from silver foil and added silver twine to the assembly.
I cut the 51-670 Bountiful Berries from white glitter paper. (I’m planning on using this die again to cut a branch from tan, green, or white cardstock and add Nuvo drops for the berries.
I cut the sentiment from silver foil using the 51-698 Frozen Vista Cut Out set. For additional depth, I backed the silver foil with the sentiment also cut from white cardstock.
I added the branch, sentiment, and ornament (popped up with foam adhesive) to a card base covered with patterned paper.
I embellished the scene with snowflakes cut from glitter cardstock using dies in the 51-268 A Blizzard and 51-080 Around Town sets.

I was originally planning to add light blue ink to a white cardstock panel for the background, as I did on this card; however, it felt too plain. I had the patterned paper out for a different project and liked how the red ornament popped against the blue snowflake pattern.

Penny Black – Christmas Baubles

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with supplies from the just-released Penny Black collection – Season of Hope. The collection is jam-packed with stamps and dies for holiday crafting.

I cut the 51-659 Beautified Baubles from silver foil, gold foil, red foil, and red velvet (the tie).
I assembled the ornaments with glue.
I stamped the 30-731 Christmas Moments sentiment on to a card base on which I had applied Distress Ink.
I adhered the branches, cut with a die in the 51-659 Beautified Baubles set, to the card base and added the ornaments with foam adhesive.

I can almost smell the greenery!

Spellbinders Card Kit – Christmas Wishes

Hello! Today I am sharing five cards created with the Christmas Wishes Cardmaking Kit from Spellbinders. The Christmas Wishes Cardmaking Kit, a holiday-themed cardmaking kit which was released in November 2019, contains ten cards and envelopes, nine pieces of cardstock, eight dies, a patterned paper pad, a stamp set, die-cut shapes, adhesive gemstones, chipboard elements, and adhesive. The kit is overflowing with product!

My first card combines patterned paper with die-cut shapes and adhesive glitter elements. This took just minutes to assemble.

My second card incorporates ornaments cut with dies in the kit from metallic gold cardstock which is also included. A chipboard element was used for the sentiment.

I used the kit’s poinsettia die on my third card with a heat-embossed sentiment from the included stamp set. Adhesive gemstones were added as embellishment.

My additional cards use the kit’s die-cut and chipboard pieces with patterned paper.

Spellbinders Season’s Greetings, Deer

Hello! Today I am sharing three CAS Christmas cards created with the Season’s Greetings, Deer die set from Spellbinders. Before we look at the cards, I want to let you know about a sale at Spellbinders which is now live and will be available until Sunday 10/11/2020.

Back to the Christmas cards.

The die set is back by popular demand; it was included in the November 2018 Card kit of the month club kit.

I took the same design approach on all three cards – varying the background paper and the materials from which I cut the hat, bow tie, poinsettia blooms and leaves, nose, and the sentiment.

I used the same colors for the antlers, head, and nose.

Because of the dark patterned papers, I glued the face pieces to vellum cut with a circle die.

I used red foil paper, a velvet-textured paper, and cardstock for the red decorative elements. I used both white glitter cardstock and white cardstock for the hat band, hat pom pom, sentiments, and leaves.

The die set includes three different shapes for the eyes. It’s easy to make the deer more feminine or masculine with the eye shapes.

On all three cards I cut the sentiment twice for depth.

Hello! I was recently a guest on the Spellbinders blog where I shared three CAS holiday cards featuring the recently-released Picot Petite Collection by Becca Feeken. While I created cards for Christmas, the collection is suitable for a variety of occasions including engagement, wedding, and anniversary. All three cards combine glimmer-foiled sentiments and metallic cardstock die-cuts.
