Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas card featuring the Penny Black #51-569 Winter Church die, which is part of the Merry and Joy release.

I cut the pieces for the church and backed the windows with a soft yellow. I heat-embossed the sentiment from the #30-257 Joy Filled stamp set on to the red cardstock card base.

To fill out the scene, I added snowflakes cut with dies from the #51-268 A Blizzard and #51-080 Around Town die sets.

What I like about this card/why I designed this card the way that I did: I like the choice of red for the background, even though it’s not realistic; I like the small touch of green that the wreath on the church adds; I like the heat-embossed sentiment on the card base as it contributes to the CAS feel of the card.

Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit – Home for the Holidays

Hello and happy October! Today, I am sharing two projects created with the October Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Home for the Holidays.” I had a lot of fun dressing my hostess for both Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Let’s start with the Thanksgiving card. I cut the hostess from a variety of solid and patterned papers. It was fun choosing her dress pattern.

I quieted the floral background patterned paper by adhering velum to it. I heat-embossed a My Favorite Things sentiment on pumpkin-colored cardstock to coordinate with the pie.

For the Christmas version, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Merry Everything set on to a white cardstock circle that I placed behind the hostess to help her stand out on the background paper.

The hostess is holding a small Christmas tree. I added wrapped plaid packages, cut with dies in the set, around her feet as embellishment.

Spellbinders 2019 Limited Edition Merry Everything Christmas Kit – Day Two

Hello! Today I am sharing two more projects created with the Spellbinders holiday kit – Merry Everything. If you missed my first post of projects created with the kit click here.

My first project is a holiday card (a nighttime trip to get a Christmas tree) created with the Merry Everything kit’s die set and stamp set.

In addition to the stamp set and die set, I used the kit’s solid cardstock, gold and silver foil cardstock and glitter cardstock to create the card. I heat-embossed the ‘Tis the Season sentiment, which is one of several holiday-themed sentiments included with the kit’s stamp set.

Yesterday, I shared a scrapbook layout created with pieces from the Merry Everything kit. Today, I am sharing two pocket scrapbook pages created with contents in the kit documenting the same Christmas morning as the scrapbook layout. I added stickers and die cut pieces to the printed pocket scrapbook cards for some embellishing.

Not a scrapbooker? The pocket scrapbook cards can easily be incorporated on greeting cards.

Spellbinders 2019 Limited Edition Merry Everything Christmas Kit

Hello! Today I am sharing three projects created with the Spellbinders holiday kit that contains OVER 630 PIECES aptly called Merry Everything. Let’s take a look!

The Merry Everything kit includes: 25 cards & 25 envelopes, patterned paper, cardstock, foil cardstock, a stamp set, a die set, pocket memory keeping cards, stickers, chipboard, tags, twine, glitter alpha, and more! The colors and themes are on trend and easily coordinate with one another.

My first project is a set of Christmas tags which were a cinch to assemble with the kit’s contents. These are so pretty, my holiday packages can be wrapped with plain paper.

Next up, two “ready made” cards I created by combining pieces – patterned paper, pocket memory keeping cards, diamante embellishments, and die cut shapes – from the kit. Again, these were created in just a few minutes.

My final project is a 12 x 12 scrapbook layout documenting the excitement of Christmas morning for two young boys. I combined pieces from the kit – pocket memory keeping cards, die cut pieces, stickers, tags – to create embellishment clusters for the page. Additionally, I used solid cardstock (the journaling strip), vellum paper, and patterned paper from the kit on the layout.
