Taylored Expressions – Santa’s On His Way

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS holiday card showcasing the Taylored Expressions Sky High – Airplane die set. I am envisioning Santa using modern technology to deliver his packages!

Taylored Expressions Santa's On His Way

I used the Santa’s hat from the On the Line North Pole Cutting Plate and added it to the aviator’s head. The evergreen trees and snow bank in the background are cut with the On the Line North Pole Cutting Plate from glitter cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the From the North Pole set. The die-cut packages were created with the All Wrapped Up set.

Taylored Expressions Santa's On His WayI have already started to envision using the airplane someway in a Valentine’s Day card.

Buffalo Check Masculine Christmas Cards

Hello! Today, I am sharing two versions of the same masculine CAS design using positive and negative die cuts.

Buffalo Check Masculine Christmas Cards

I used the We R Memory Keepers – Antlers die (retired) to cut red cardstock stamped with the Hero Arts Tartan background stamp (retired). I recently rediscovered these items in my stash while brainstorming card designs.

For the card using the antler positive die-cut, the base is Neenah Desert Storm cardstock cut with the Stitched Woodgrain backdrop. The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up Cheerful Tags (retired) set.

I originally had no plans for using the antler negative. After several days, I realized I could make a similar card, just varying the supplies a bit.

I used the Neenah Desert Storm cardstock cut with the Stitched Woodgrain backdrop behind the die-cut antler shape. I used one of the My Favorite Things Snow Globe Sentiments, which was cut with a die in the Hero Arts Frame Cuts F (retired) set.

Merry Monday Christmas Color Challenge – Blue, Green, Silver and White

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS card featuring the Memory Box Deco Trees die created for Merry Monday Challenge #267.

At first I was going to pass on the challenge because all I could think of was a card with glass ornaments in the challenge colors of green, blue, and white/silver/vellum (and was getting nowhere). I finally freed myself of that specific idea!

Merry Monday #267

I die-cut a cardstock panel with the Deco Trees die and heat-embossed a Hero Arts sentiment from the “Spread Joy” set (now retired) on the panel. I colored cardstock with three Distress Oxide inks – Peacock Feathers, Lucky Clover and Salty Ocean. I trimmed the colored cardstock to fit behind the openings of the three trees.

Watercolored Snow Day

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card featuring one of the images from the Newton’s Nook Designs Snow Day stamp set (now retired). I have never before stamped any images in this set (and I purchased it in 2013!).

Newton's Nook Watercolored Snow Day

I stamped and heat-embossed the dog image on Canson Montval watercolor paper and colored it with a combination of Distress Inks and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

Once the image was dry, I cut it with a die in the Stitched Square Stackables – Large set. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments set and cut it with a die in the Everyday Sentiment Banners set. I used the Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop die to create the card background. Once assembled, I realized there was a critical missing detail – snowflakes! I used the Snow Caps set to die-cut snowflakes from the watercolor paper.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 – Day 12 Lawn Fawn

Hello. Today, I am sharing a tag created for The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 – Day 12 for which Lawn Fawn was the guest. All of the inspiration tags were terrific! My tag was most influenced by those shown by Elena Roussakis and Lindsey M-p.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 - Day 12 Lawn Fawn

I stamped the Toboggan Together deer images on Arches Hot Press Watercolor Paper with VersaFine and colored them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Dark Brown (47)Kuretake Gansai Tambi Brown (46) and Kuretake Gansai Tambi Light Brown (44).

Once dry, I cut the images with their corresponding dies. I colored Canson Watercolor Paper with Broken China Distress Oxide ink and Distress Oxide Lucky Clover ink. Once the paper was dry, I cut the tag background from the blue with the largest die in the Stitched Circle Tags set. I cut the Forest Border from the green. I cut the snow banks using the Stitched Hillside Backdrop Landscape die, which I also cut with the largest die in the Stitched Circle Tags set. I heat-embossed the Merry Messages sentiment with Geranium Red embossing powder.

I used Peppermint twine to finish off the tag. For such a simple tag, there were a lot of steps! The best part – this tag is already adorning a wrapped gift!
