Simon Says Stamp – Picture Book Mash-Up

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS winter-themed card featuring a mash-up of two of the Picture Book dies from Simon Says Stamp – the Picture Book Bear and the Picture Book Snowman. I used the Bear die to create a Polar Bear whom I dressed with the scarf from the Snowman set!

Echo Park patterned paper in my stash was used for the scarf, the background in the picture frame, and for the card base.

Get Cozy – A CAS Holiday Card

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS holiday card that combines many of my favorite things – die-cuts, texture, twine, and a stamp set that is both a background and a sentiment!

Get Cozy - A CAS Holiday Card

I cut the mug from Candy Apple cardstock (FSJ) with the Penny Black What’s In Your Cup? die set and added a snowflake cut with the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes set. I cut the steam for the mug with the same Penny Black set from vellum to which I had adhered double-sided adhesive. For the background, I stamped the Neat and Tangled Hello Winter stamp in Rich Cocoa ink. (There are similar Neat and Tangled stamp sets for Spring, Summer, and Fall.) I dry-embossed the card base with a Sizzix embossing folder (now retired) and finished it with Lawn Fawn twine.

Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Santa + Snowman

Hello and Ho, Ho, Ho! Today, I am sharing tags featuring Spellbinders Holiday Die D-Lites. I have used the Santa die set on one and the Snowman set on the other! Spellbinders has generously provided me with a Santa die set and Snowman die set to giveaway to one reader (US addresses only please). I have details on the giveaway at the end of the post.

On the Santa, the hat, the beard, the face, and the mustache were cut and embossed. I cut his hat from red cardstock and used a snow marker to add the white fur. Similarly, I cut his face from peach cardstock and used the snow marker to add his eyebrows.

There are lots of options on how to craft these sets. For example, I have seen examples where the hat and the face are cut from white cardstock and colored with Copic markers (in which case the fur pieces are left uncolored as are his eyebrows).

For the Snowman, I cut and embossed the hat, the face, the holly leaves and berries, and the scarf. I cut the hat and eyes from a black foil.

Using the die in the Happy Grams set, I cut patterned paper to create the tag bases. On both tags, I used a sentiment from the Charming Tag Sentiments set, which I cut with a die in the A-2 Matting Basics B set.

Now to the giveaway! I like all sorts of Christmas decorating styles and color combinations – whimsical, rustic/farmhouse, traditional, … and have decorated over the years in a number of different styles. To enter the giveaway (US addresses only please), simply comment on this post telling me your favorite Christmas decorating style by Thursday, October 25, 9 PM PDT. I’ll contact the winner on Friday, October 26.

Spellbinders – A Sweet Christmas

Hello! Today I am sharing three CAS Christmas cards of the same design featuring the Gingerbread Boy from Sharyn Sowell for Spellbinders. For all three, I used patterned paper backgrounds and a sentiment from the Concord & 9th Holiday Cheer set, which I stamped and cut with a circle die.

I crafted the gingerbread people from three different materials – cardstock (Lawn Fawn Paper Bag), felt (Taylored Expressions latte), and glitter (Elizabeth Crafts Desert Gold). For the eyes, buttons, mouth, … I used  glossy cardstock for the gingerbread boy crafted from glitter and cardstock and felt for the  gingerbread boy crafted from felt.

There would be fun to include with a gift of freshly baked gingerbread!

Spellbinders – Let’s Bake

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS holiday card showcasing the Let’s Bake die set from the Spellbinders A Sweet Christmas Collection by Sharyn Sowell. This card would be a great addition to a gift of Christmas cookies or candy (my mother gifted hand-turned fudge packaged in a red round tin). Similarly the die-cuts could be used to created gift tags for Christmas food gifts!

Spellbinders - Let's Bake

I cut the pieces from a variety of cardstock colors and backed the pieces with openings (the oven mitt, the measuring spoon, and the glass measuring cup) with cardstock in the same color.

I added a heat-embossed sentiment on the kitchen wall background which I created with the Spellbinders Circles and Diamonds embossing folder.
