Deck the Halls!

Hello. Today, I’m sharing a winter Christmas scene featuring the Elizabeth Craft Designs Holiday House.

Elizabeth Crafts Holiday House

I placed the house in a forest scene (trees created with the Memory Box Fresh Pine Forest die). I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil for the snow. I added Liquid Applique to the house trim to simulate snow, although I considered creating those pieces either from glitter paper or using Elizabeth Crafts microfine glitter. I used Elizabeth Crafts microfine glitter on the wreath. There are so many ways to cut out these pieces, and I can’t wait to try some more variations.

Head over to the Classroom for a full supply list and to see Sharon’s take on the theme!

Before you go, I’ve also got a CAS Christmas card combining images and sentiment from the Santa’s Flight set designed by Julie Ebersole with Taylored Expressions die cuts.

TE Ellen Hutson Christmas Card

I heat-embossed the Santa and reindeer with WOW Metallic Platinum Sparkle embossing powder for a shimmering look. The card base was covered with American Crafts Glitter Paper.

Mele Kalikimaka – Tropical Christmas Scene

Today, I’m sharing a tropical Christmas scene created with Taylored Expressions dies.

TE Hawaiian Christmas Scene

I combined elements from the Beach Cutting Plate and North Pole Cutting Plate sets to create the palm tree background with Santa’s suit on the line. I used one of the trees from the Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? die to attach to the top of the Surf Bus. For most of the die-cuts, I colored Watercolor Cardstock with TE inks (rather than cut from colored cardstock).

For the card’s interior, I created the sentiment, (the Hawaiian phrase Mele Kalikimaka means “Merry Christmas” and there’s a Christmas song of the same name), on my computer and cut the printed cardstock with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets set.

Christmas Mice

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring the Elizabeth Craft Designs  Jolly the Mouse die set.

Christmas Mice

I die cut and assembled three mice, decorating them with items from the Props 5 set (Santa hat, candy cane, beard, moustache, glasses). For the pink used on their feet, hands, ears and noses, I colored cardstock with Taylored Expressions Cupcake ink to get just the right shade.

I used the Stitched Hillside Border set to create layers and kept building until all three mice had a place on the card. The card is just a little bit taller than 5 1/2 inches. The patterned paper background is from American Crafts.

I added a long sentiment from the Merry Messages set.

Jingle All the Way – PB Simplicity

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS holiday card created with Penny Black supplies.

PB Simplicity Watercolored Cats

I stamped the pair of cats from 30-317 Deck the Halls with Versafine ink and colored the image with watercolor pencils and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

I cut the 51-084 Jingle… sentiment from watercolor cardstock which I had colored with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and adhered to the watercolored panel.
