Merry Monday 129 Guest Designer

I’m delighted to be guest designing over at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge today! The challenge? Use Neon Colors on your Christmas card.

For my card, I pulled out a Hero Arts Neon ink sampler and all of my snowflake stamps testing several combinations. I combined stamps from an old Hero Arts set as well as a Paper Smooches set.

To finish, I dry embossed the card base and added a few snowflake sequins.

I stamped and heat embossed the twelve images on squares cut with a die from the Lifestyle Crafts nesting set. The sentiment is from ‘Tis the Season.

My next card features the Autumn Acorns stamp set. I stamped two of the leaves in the set in a variety of shadow inks, popping up some acorns with dimensional tape.

My final card, concealing a gift card, combines the Treat Yo Self die, the Zipper Panel die, and Christmas Scribbles. The snowflakes were stamped in gold ink, the die cut in gold and added to a die cut in the card’s red base color for extra dimension.

Merry Monday 128

I’m playing along with the Merry Monday #128 Challenge – to use stripes or polka dots.

I pulled out my patterned paper pads and found a combination of stripes and dots that worked with the Pine Border die against a die cut stitched rectangle.

MerryMonday128

It took a couple of tries with various holiday sentiments to find one that I felt balanced the rectangle. ultimately choosing a sentiment from the My Favorite Things set. Naturally, I took a break during the cardmaking process to look at new holiday releases and add some sentiment sets to my wish list!

Supplies: Lil’ Inker stitched rectangle, MFT Stamps Cheerful Christmas Greetings, Memory Box Pine Border Background

Penny Black Holiday Shaker Card

Today, I’m sharing a holiday shaker card crafted with Penny Black dies and background stamp.

MerryShakerTo begin, I cut the largest snowflake from the 51-066 Crystal Trio set out of a silver glitter paper. With the same die, I cut a snowflake out of a white panel into which I inlaid the glitter snowflake (adhering it on the back with tape). The front panel is stamped with the 40-350 Tree-Lined background stamp in a coordinating ink. I cut a circle out of the front panel. I cut a slightly smaller circle out of a white panel to which I adhered an acetate panel. I put foam around the circular opening and filled the enclosure with a mixture of sequins. The Merry sentiment from the 51-021 Love & Joy set was cut three times for added depth.

To recap the layers from top down – green stamped panel, white panel with circular cutout, acetate, white panel with inlaid snowflake, card base.

I’m playing along this week with Merry Monday #127 – Christmas Bingo. I’ve got sparkle, a die cut and red!
