Taylored Expressions – Cactus Die-Cuts

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS, Southwest-themed, apology card combining a variety of Taylored Expressions supplies.

Taylored Expressions - Cactus Die-Cuts

Here’s how I created the card: I cut Sugar Cube cardstock with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and applied Dreamweaver Embossing Paste through the Chevron Arrow Stencil. I set the panel with wet embossing paste aside to dry. I cut the cactus and their containers with dies in the Sitting Pretty Accessories set from Sugar Cube cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers. I like the look that coloring with Copic markers gives to die-cuts, especially for the variation it provides. I assembled the plants and containers.

I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from the Lookin’ Sharp Stamp & Die Combo set on Poppy Seed cardstock with TE Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. Once the stenciled panel was dry, I added the sentiment and cacti to the panel with foam adhesive. The card base was created from Toffee cardstock.

A Thank You Bouquet

Hello! Today, I am sharing a square, CAS “thank you” card created with a combination of Simon Says Stamp products.

Simon Says Stamp - A Thank You Bouquet

To begin, I created the background by inking cardstock with Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks. I then stamped the inked cardstock with the Kaleidoscope Background stamp using Picked Raspberry Distress Ink (not Oxide). I used the same inks for the background as I used on this card. Next, I stamped foliage from the Choose Joy set, colored the blooms and leaves with Copic markers, and cut them out. I chose to color the flowers with colors similar to, but slightly brighter than, the background. I cut the background with a Lil’ Inker square die. I cut out the circle from the center to frame the sentiment, which I created with sentiments in the Big Thanks Words stamp set.

I arranged the flowers around the circle and then lifted them with the Press ‘N Seal method. I applied adhesive to the backs of the flowers and placed them back on the card. Two of the flowers are popped up with foam adhesive.

Wishing you a wonderful Monday (or Tuesday, as the case may be)!

Simon Says Stamp FLUTTERING BY Release

Hello! Today, I’m delighted to share three projects featuring products from the Simon Says Stamp FLUTTERING BY release.

SSS Fluttering By Release

My first project showcases the Picture Book Squirrel which I’ve paired with Flickering Butterflies and the Woodgrain Block.

SSS Fluttering By Release - Picture Book Squirrel

I cut the Picture Book Squirrel from white cardstock and colored the pieces with Copic markers. I pieced them together over a piece of cardstock, which was cut slightly smaller than the assembled squirrel, and glued the colored pieces to it. For a bit of whimsy, I added googly eyes.

I clear-embossed the Big Thanks sentiment cut from white cardstock and backed it with vellum, cut with the same die set. I added the sentiment to cardstock cut with the Woodgrain Block die. I cut the Flickering Butterflies from cardstock which had been colored with Copic markers. The clouds were cut with the Picture Book Sky Background die.

My second project features the Center Cut Burst background stamp.

I began by inking a cardstock panel with Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Picked Raspberry. I then stamped the Center Cut Burst stamp (without the center) with Archival black ink. I next stamped the sentiment from the Big Thanks Words stamp set. I added the die-cut Thanks, which I cut with the dies in the Big Thanks die set, above the stamped sentiment.

My final project today showcases the Abstract Triangle stencil on a CAS thank you card.

I inked white cardstock through the stencil with Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch. I added a sentiment strip stamped with the Big Thanks Words stamp set to which I adhered a clear-embossed Big Thanks cut from black cardstock.

TE April 2018 Release – All About Mom

Hello! Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions April 2018 Release Sneak Peeks. Both of my projects today are focused on Mom. By the way, the products I have been sneaking will be released  tomorrow – Thursday, April 5 @ 7 AM PDT!

My first project today is a CAS Mother’s Day card featuring the Caps Lock – Mom die set with the Caps Lock Companion – Mom/Dad stamp set.

TE April 2018 Release

I stamped the background with the Color Me Background stamp on Sugar Cube cardstock and colored it with Copic markers and colored pencils. I stamped the background again and did not color it. I cut the Caps Lock – Mom from both backgrounds and popped the uncolored letters up on the colored background with foam adhesive. I cut out the colored background with the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die. I added Oreo cardstock behind the cutouts on the colored background.

TE April 2018 Release

I heat-embossed the “Thankful for You” on Oreo cardstock with the TE white embossing powder and cut the sentiment with the smallest Double-ended Flag Stacklets die. For the card base, I dry-embossed Confetti Cake cardstock with the Weathered embossing folder.

Supplies: (new products will be released April 5)

My second project today is a CAS Mother’s Day card featuring the Choosy Moms stamp set and Little Bits – Wine dies.

TE April 2018 Release

To create the background, I colored Sugar Cube cardstock with Plum Punch ink and cut the panel with the Hole Punch Cutting Plate.

I die-cut the wine bottle and glasses with the Little Bits – Wine set from cardstock which I had adhered with Window Acetate to give the pieces shine like glass. I created a frame, cut from Gold Foil cardstock with one of the dies in the Stitched Frame Stacklets 2 set, for the gold heat-embossed Choosy Moms sentiment.
