TE April 2018 Release – Ahoy Matey!

Hello! Welcome to Day 1 of the Taylored Expressions April 2018 Release Sneak Peeks. This month’s release is PACKED with products for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduations, and Teacher Appreciation along with mini-themes – Little Boy (pirate), Little Girl (unicorn), and florals for Mother’s Day and spring. Mark your calendar – the products will be released Thursday, April 5 @ 7 AM PDT!

Let’s get started! My first card features the Shiver Me Timbers stamp set, which has a coordinating set of dies, the On the Water – Pirate Ship die set and the Stitched Frame Stacklets 2. Oh, and there’s a stencil, too. That’s right – Taylored Expressions now carries stencils!

TE April 2018 Release

To begin I applied embossing paste to Sugar Cube cardstock through the Polka Dot stencil. While the panel dried, I stamped and colored the Shiver Me Timbers images (the set contains a wide variety of pirates and their accessories) with Copic markers and cut them with their corresponding dies. I cut a frame with one of the dies in the Stitched Frame Stacklets 2 set to frame the Shiver Me Timbers images. I cut the On the Water – Pirate Ship with a variety of cardstocks and used a larger Stitched Frame Stacklets 2 circle to frame it on the card.

I heat-embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder (Taylored Expressions now carries embossing powders as well!) and cut it with one of the dies in the Banner Stacklets 4 set.

My second card combines a heat-embossed sentiment from the Look with your Heart set with the Little Bits – Puzzle Piece die. Taylored Expressions will be donating 25% of the profits from the sale of every Look with Your Heart stamp set to the National Autism Society throughout the month of April.

I heat-embossed the Look with your Heart sentiment on a Sugar Cube panel cut with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets set. I cut the Little Bits – Puzzle Piece from WatermelonGranny Smith, Cookie Monster, and Lemon Meringue cardstock. I put the pieces together, taped them on the back to hold them in place, and added the interlocked assembly to the sentiment panel with foam adhesive. The card base is created with Earl Grey cardstock.

You Bring Sunshine

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a “just because” friendship card combining products from several different manufacturers.

You Bring Sunshine

To begin, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Choose Joy sentiment on cardstock and inked the My Favorite Things Radiating Rays stencil with  Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks above the sentiment.

I cut the panel with one of the dies in Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables set and adhered it to a card base cut from Stampin Up Island Indigo, which I had dry-embossed with the Taylored Expressions Weathered folder.

To create the sand bar, I colored white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks in Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap and cut it with a die in the Marianne Design Tiny’s Lighthouse set. To create the seagull, I colored cardstock with Distress Oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot and cut it with pieces in the Marianne Design Eline’s Seagull & Friends set.

Taylored Expressions – You Make Life Sweet

Hello! Today, I am sharing a friendship card created with Taylored Expressions products on which I use the design principle of repetition!
Taylored Expressions - You Make Life Sweet
I cut the Little Bits – Cupcake four times from cardstock that I had colored with Taylored Expressions inks in Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop, and Cookie Monster. I added Distress Stickles to the frosting of the muffins and Nuvo drops to the cherries for texture and shine.

I stamped the Toe-tally Awesome sentiment in Cookie Monster and Lollipop inks on the Misti and then cut it with the Sentiment Stacker 1 die.
For the card base, I used patterned papers from the Hello Happiness and Rainbow Brights packs, and to add texture, I dry-embossed Sugar Cube cardstock with the Lots of Dots embossing folder.

Lawn Fawn – Copic-colored “Hay There”

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a “just because” card created with the Lawn Fawn Hay There stamp set.

Lawn Fawn Copic-colored "Hay There"

I stamped the cute critters and the barn and colored them with Copic markers.

I created my scene from Lawn Fawn Noble Fir  and Mermaid cardstock  using a variety of Lawn Fawn dies: the Stitched Cloud Backdrop, the Grassy Border, one of the dies in the Stitched Hillside Border set, and the Picket Fence Border. I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment on Black Licorice cardstock and cut it with one of the Everyday Sentiment Banners. The card base is made from Lawn Fawn Paper Bag cardstock.

Simon Says Stamp BEST DAYS Release

Hello! Today, I’m delighted to be participating in a Simon Says Stamp blog hop with products from their BEST DAYS release. Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop!

Simon Says Stamp Best Days Release

Let’s get started! My first project features the Picture Book Crocodile paired with the Picture Book Sky Background, both of which are part of the Best Days release.

Simon Says Stamp BEST DAYS ReleaseTo begin, I colored cardstock with a variety of Distress Oxide inks (Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough). I die-cut the Picture Book Crocodile from the colored cardstock and assembled the pieces on black cardstock backing so that the eyes would show through. I also colored cardstock with Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. From that colored cardstock, I cut out the Picture Book Sky Background four times, inlaying it with white cardstock clouds.

The sentiment from the Oh Bunny stamp set was stamped on to a panel which I colored with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and cut with one of the dies in the Arched Stitching Borders set. I am a big fan of all of the Picture Book animals and can’t wait to pair the Crocodile with other dies in the series.

My second project showcases the Oh Bunny stamp set and corresponding die set.

I inked one of the images in the Oh Bunny stamp set with Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. I then stamped the sweet faces included in the Oh Bunny stamp set on to the bunnies. Once finished with the stamping, I cut the image with its corresponding die.

I placed the bunnies on to a background, on which I had applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and stamped one of the fun sentiments in the Oh Bunny set. To finish off the card, I added clouds cut with the Picture Book Sky Background die and hearts from the Oh Bunny set. I created the card base with paper in the Carta Bella Spring Market 6 x 6 paper pad.

My final project is an Easter tag featuring several different bunnies from the Oh Bunny stamp set.

I stamped the bunny on the left with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and the one on the right with Squeezed Lemonade. After stamping their faces, I cut the bunnies with their corresponding dies. I used a Lawn Fawn tag die to cut the tag from a background which I had inked with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I applied Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink to cardstock on which I then heat-embossed the Easter sentiment from the Oh Bunny stamp set.  I cut the hill with one of the dies in the Drifted Stitched Borders set, as well as the same Lawn Fawn tag die.
