Penny Black Paper Lanterns

Today, I’m sharing two cards suitable for celebrations! The Campground community on Martha’s Vineyard has an annual summer event called “Grand Illumination” during which beautiful paper lanterns, hung on gingerbread cottage porches, are lit. The tradition dates from the turn of the 19th century and is the inspiration for my cards.

After applying Distress Inks to watercolor paper and letting it dry, I used Penny Black’s #51-034 After Glow die set to cut out a lot of lanterns. I then played with different combinations of shapes and colors. Because I had so many lanterns, I decided to make two cards – one on a black background and one on a white background.

LanternsBlackBkgnd

For the black background, I heat embossing a sentiment from Penny Black’s 30-297 Sprinkles and Smiles with silver powder.

LanternsWhiteBkgnd

For the white background, I stamped a different sentiment from the same set – Penny Black’s 30-297 Sprinkles and Smiles  in black ink.

Lawn Fawn Relax!

Today, I’m sharing a “just because” card inspired by the recent sunny days here in the PNW! I try to never take a sunny day for granted.

Sailboat

I combined several Lawn Fawn die cuts with a sailboat from the Float My Boat set. I had intended to Copic color the boat, but once I had the cardstock pieces laid out, I thought it would look better if the sails on the boat were cardstock as well. So I stamped the boat on red cardstock and fussy cut the sails. The sentiment is from the Life is Good set.

Supplies:

ColourQ #290

I’m sharing a card for the newest ColourQ Challenge created with only die cuts, no stamping.

ColourQ290

For my card, I used the Love & Ice Cream Confetti Cuts to create a double-scoop ice cream cone. The cone is cut from one of the “Let’s Celebrate” Quick Card Panels. The sentiment was cut with one of the dies in the Fancy Words Confetti Cuts set. I added a cherry cut using the Love & Ice Cream set to replace the “o”!

Reverse Confetti May Release Blog Hop

The wait is over! REVERSE CONFETTI has just released FIVE stamp sets, SIX Confetti Cuts and “Let’s Celebrate” Quick Card Panels in the May “Birthday Release”!!

The hop started on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Lisa’s blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all the new Reverse Confetti stamp sets and dies!

For my first card, I stamped one of the hats from the Party Hats set and cut it with the coordinating Confetti Cuts die.

I added garlands cut with the Star Garland and Double Banner Garland Confetti Cuts sets. I topped the Party Hat with a pom pom cut with glitter paper using the separate die in the Party Hats Confetti Cuts set. The background is one of the “Let’s Celebrate” Quick Card Panels.

For my next project, I used the Love and Ice Cream stamp set and Love & Ice Cream Confetti Cuts.

LoveandIceCream

I stamped and heat-embossed a sentiment from the Love and Ice Cream stamp set and cut it with the banner from Tag Me Confetti Cuts. To make the ice cream, I cut one of the “Let’s Celebrate” Quick Card Panels with a die in the Love & Ice Cream Confetti Cuts set. The cone was cut and then dry embossed.

I hope you’ve enjoyed hopping with us today. Be sure and hop with us on the 8th of EVERY MONTH for more REVERSE CONFETTI inspiration! Now it’s time to hop on over to Kathy’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the hop order and list of all the participating designers over on the Reverse Confetti blog.

Reverse Confetti Countdown to Confetti Day Three

It’s Day Three of the Countdown to Confetti at Reverse Confetti! Today, Reverse Confetti introduces Love and Ice Cream stamp set and Love & Ice Cream Confetti Cuts.

TwoScoops

I couldn’t resist creating the ice cream scoops and cones out of some patterned paper in non-traditional colors to create a CAS card. The Love & Ice Cream Confetti Cuts set provides lots of options! I adhered the cones to a scallop circle cut with one of the Circles ‘n Scallops dies.
